Based on the data collected, 264 (67%) out of 304 students are at the age of 17-18
years old. Then 93 (31%) out of 304 students are 15-16 years old, followed by 7 (2%)
out of 304 students who are 19 years old and above. This shows that teenagers 17-18
years old are more into playing games.

Chapter 4
The study aims to determine the impact of online game habits on the academic
performance of the grade 12 students of the University of Saint Anthony as well as the
reason why students are addicted to playing online games. This study tends to attain
data and information through the following Statement of the Problem: 1. What is the
profile of the respondent in terms of a.) Gender b.) Age c.) Year-Level 2. What are the
most played online games and the features keeping users on the screen for longer periods
of time? 3. What are the significant effects of online gaming on the academic performance
of students? 4. What recommendations can be formulated based on the findings of the
study?
SUMMARY OF FINDINGS
CONCLUSION
1. The data collected provides insights into the profile of respondents in terms
of gender, age, and grade level. It is observed that the majority of respondents are
male, followed by female and non-binary individuals. In terms of age, the data shows
that the majority of respondents fall within a specific age bracket, with teenagers aged
17-18 being the most prevalent. Additionally, the data reveals the distribution of
respondents across different grade levels, with a significant number in grade 11 and
grade 12. These findings highlight the demographic characteristics of the respondents
and provide a context for further analysis and understanding of their online gaming
habits.
2. The data reveals the most popular online games and the features that keep
players engaged for long periods. Mobile Legends, Call of Duty, Valorant, PUBG, Clash

of Clans, Genshin Impact, and League of Legends are among the top games. The
features that players find most engaging are strategic team play, fast-paced character-
driven gameplay, and dynamic building mechanics. Social elements, like multiplayer
interactions and online communities, are considered important factors in deciding to
continue playing a game. In-game rewards and progression systems also contribute to
sustained interest. Players are interested in emerging trends such as virtual reality,
cross-platform play, and enhanced AI. The most addictive aspects of online games are
in-game rewards, challenging gameplay, and social interactions. On average, players
spend 3-5 hours a day playing online games. These findings provide valuable insights
for game developers to enhance the gaming experience by focusing on social elements,
rewards, and new features.
3. The data reveals that online gaming has a significant impact on students'
academic performance. The genre of online games they play is believed to affect their
ability to focus on studies, and changes in sleep patterns due to gaming habits are
reported to impact academic performance. However, students also recognize the
potential for incorporating educational elements into online games to enhance the
learning value of their gaming experiences.
