Waves in Aglipay
Languages and Literature faculty, led by Dr. Ma. Theresa L. Eustaquio and Dr. Juanito P.
Tandoc Jr., alongside Ms. Bernadette Gumpal and Ms. Leizl Joy Alzate, collaborated with MA
students Mr. Jefferson Pedida and Mr. Daine Jay Tejada to organize a successful East District
Write Shop and Press Conference. The event, held on April 1, 2023, at Aglipay East Central
With a mission to positively impact both pupils and teachers of Aglipay East District
Quirino, the Write Shop and Press Conference drew participants from various schools, including
Victoria High School, Aglipay High School, Our Lady of Lourdes School, Ramos Elementary
School, San Antonio Elementary School, San Francisco Elementary School Main and Annex,
The day was packed with enlightening workshops covering a range of journalistic skills,
including sports writing, editorial cartooning, copy reading and headline writing, science and
health writing, photojournalism, news writing, editorial writing, and feature writing.
As the participants delved into the intricacies of various journalistic genres, they emerged
with newfound confidence and a sharpened skill set. The success of the East District Write Shop
and Press Conference serves as a testament to the commitment of the faculty and the enthusiasm
webinar series featuring Ms. Quinn Rieblock, a Virtual English Language Fellow from
Georgetown University in Washington D.C. This event, made possible by the dedicated faculty
members, aimed to improve language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, along
with exploring grammar and expanding vocabulary. The webinars was held last July 20 and
August 19, 2022, which provided valuable insights to AB ELS and MA English students.
The series covered a wide range of language education aspects, emphasizing the
