4. Procedures
4.1 Introductory Activity (3 minutes). The teacher
will show pictures
to the pupils.

Then, the teacher will ask the following questions:


1. What do you notice in the pictures?
(Chocolate Hills, Underground River, and Mayon Volcano)
2. Have you ever heard of or visited these places before? If not, which one would you like to
visit and why?
(Answers may vary.)

4.2 Activity (10 minutes). The teacher will have a group activity, which is entitled “Where Am I?”. The objective for this
activity is to engage pupils in a guessing game that encourages them to think about different
locations and use descriptive language. The teacher will divide the class into four (4) groups and
assign a leader for each group. The leader will act out being in a particular location without
speaking, and the other group members will try to guess where they are. The leader will choose a
metacard from a set of prepared cards (e.g., beach, zoo, supermarket, park, etc.) without showing
it to the group. The leader will then use gestures, facial expressions, and body language to act out
being in that location while the group members observe. After the group members make their
guesses, the leader reveals the location card and discusses the characteristics of that place. Each
group will be given 2 minutes only, the group who have more words to guess in a span of time will
be the winner.

4.3 Analysis (2 minutes). After the activity, the teacher will ask the following question:

4.4 Abstraction (10 minutes).
The teacher will now present the topic which is all about the Adverb of Place in an interactive way.

An adverb of place is a type of adverb that provides information about the location or position of
an action or event. It answers the question “where?” and describes where an action is happening
or where something is located. Adverbs of place can modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs.

Here are some examples of adverbs of place:

1. “There” – It refers to a specific place that is not close to the speaker or the person being
spoken to.
For example: “She left her bag over there.”

2. “Away” – It indicates a place that is at a distance from a particular location.


For example: “He walked away from the crowd.”

3. “Here” – It refers to the place where the speaker or the person being spoken to currently
is.
For example: “Come here and sit next to me.”

4. “Everywhere” – It means in all places or in every location.


For example: “I looked everywhere for my lost keys.”

5. “Behind” – It indicates a position at the back or rear of something or someone.


For example: “The cat is hiding behind the couch.”

6. “Inside” – It refers to a position or location within a building or an enclosed space.


For example: “We stayed inside during the storm.”

7. “Forward” – It indicates a direction or movement towards the front or ahead.


For example: “The team moved forward with their plan.”

8. “Upward” – It refers to a direction or movement going upward or towards a higher


position. For example: “The balloons floated upward into the sky.”

9. “Around” – It indicates movement or position in a circular or surrounding manner.


For example: “They walked around the park, enjoying the scenery.”
Generalization: (2 minutes).

The teacher will ask few questions based from the topic being discussed.
1. What is an adverb of place?

- (there, away, here, everywhere, behind, inside, forward, upward, around)
3. Give an example sentence with an adverb of place.

4.5 Application (15 minutes).


Let's have another group activity with the same group. The teacher will give each group scrambled
words and they are going to arrange it and form into a sentence and identify the adverb of place.

Example:

4.8 Concluding Activity (3 minutes). The teacher will ask a concluding question to the pupils:
