in Reading Interventions and Instruction.

I live right here in town with my husband, two daughters, and two Great
Danes who think they are lap dogs. We like to take family trips to mountain
destinations, and spending a day at Busch Gardens riding roller coasters.

Rules and Expectations
I believe that as a teacher, the best way to
ensure a productive, safe, and supportive
S - Show Respect
classroom environment for for my students
and I to work together with that goal. To T - Take Responsibility
achieve this we use the S.T.A.R. model for
our classroom rules. The acronym is laid out A - Always Give Effort
here, a copy with more detail will be sent
home for you and your student to sign and R - Rise Above and
return during the rst week of school.
Students will have opportunities throughout Beyond
the year to earn special incentives.

Everyone Makes Mistakes!

We look at mistakes as opportunities to do better in my
classroom, and so consequences increase with the frequency
or severity of the behavior.

1st Time: I will discreetly let your child know that they are not
following rules and remind them of expectations.

2nd Time: They will lose a “Behavior Buck” (classroom

incentive) they have previously earned.

3rd Time: Written letter from your child explaining the

behavior and a follow up from me.

CLASS PROCEDURES

All classroom expectations and procedures will be taught in the beginning of the year so
students know what is expected of them throughout the day. Here are some general
procedures they will learn
- What to do during re drills.
- How to begin and end their day in an organized way.
- How to behave during special events like assemblies or eld trips.
- Successfully moving through the school safely.
