I: HEY HEY HEY, good evening everyone. Tonight we’re interviewing a very well known guy
who has just released a new collaboration, a recent project with Ariana Grande which has
been on the top 5 in 25 countries. So, Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, who you may know as The
Weeknd, tell us, this song is meaningful to you, isn’t it? You’ve been going through personal
stuff. Before going deeper into that, may I ask you about how you feel about this song?

TW: Yeah, you know, this is about uum being there for each other and helping one another
in difficult times dealing with anxiety. Sometimes, there's too much pressure around us,
which makes it difficult to love someone as they deserve, that’s why this song is called “Save
your tears”. Being a public figure can have a lot of positive aspects, but it also has negative
ones.

I: I think it’s fearless to be that brave and be able to say “No, we can’t continue with our
relationship” while you still love that person. And even more, being able to tell everyone how
you feel throughout a song may be really helpful for someone who is going through similar
situations.

TW: That’s it. Sometimes you have to run away because it’s the best for the other person.
When I realized the huge impact that the song had had all over the world, I thought: “why
don’t we make it even better?” Then Ariana Grande came to my mind, since we had worked
on several projects together.

I: I can't even imagine how hard it must be to play that song right after a break up, but you
have all my respect and support, and so do all your fans.
TW: Yeah, it’s been really complicated, especially the first time I had to perform it.
Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy this version as much as I do.
