TASK: Reorder the steps of the following lesson plan so that it follows a correct task-

based sequence. Be ready to justify your decisions.

Lesson: What’s self-esteem and how to enhance it?

1. In groups of 3, students should come up with their own definition of what they think self-esteem
is and write it down in their own words. After that, all groups compare ideas and decide as a class
on the best definition for self-esteem.

2. Vocabulary related to self-esteem is written on the board and discussed. Then students design
digital flashcards with these words on the digital platform Quizlet.

3. Next, each group make a list of reasons why teenagers might have low self-esteem and what
things could be done to enhance it. They are asked to create a visual display (a digital poster) with
their ideas.

4. The students read and complete a questionnaire individually about their own self-esteem. In
pairs, they share what they’ve discovered about themselves. Then, they watch a video where
two friends chat about things that help them to improve their self-esteem, and learners answer
comprehension questions.

5. In pairs, learners practice the new vocabulary they’re learning related to self-esteem in a short
discussion where they need to share the experience that has helped them the most to boost their
own self-esteem. They are instructed to use at least 7 of the new words targeted in this lesson.

6. The teacher shows the word “self-esteem” on the screen and asks students to write down all the
words that come to their minds when they think of this concept. Then, they share them with the
whole class.

7. Each group prepares a presentation of their poster for the rest of the class, while the teacher
walks around offering help. After 10 minutes, each group presents its poster, and then the class
vote for the 5 best strategies to improve teenagers’ self-esteem.
