Casa Corazon restaurant is an absolute gem when it comes to their Mexican cuisine, scenery, and
service.
Casa Corazon is a lovely Mexican restaurant located on 16th Street just south of Thomas Road.
This restaurant captures all the Mexican elements with a vibrant and inviting atmosphere. From
the moment you walk in you can smell the rich savory aroma that fills the air, it is just a glimpse
of the incredible flavors that await. Each dish is expertly prepared with fresh ingredients that
awaken your taste buds. When I close my eyes, I can’t help but think about my grandmother’s
kitchen and signature dishes: chiles rellenos, mole, and enchiladas. The attention to detail and
dedication to authenticity are evident in every bite. They also have a beautiful salsa bar with a
great variety of house-made salsas. And I can’t forget about the beautiful made-from-scratch
fresh water, they offer a variety of Jamaica, Tamarindo, Fresh Squeezed Lemonade, Mazapan,
and my favorite Horchata. Horchata is a popular Mexican drink that is often described as a sweet
rich milk beverage. It is made from rice, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon. The service is fast, warm,
and friendly with knowledgeable staff that are more than happy to guide you through the menu.
Prices might be high, but the portions are well-sized and the taste more than reflects the price.
I came across an article in Java Magazine called Casa Corazon: Food from The Heart by Sloane

He continues to compliment the restaurant for Its gorgeous views “exposed brick walls, gorgeous
paintings, the beautiful botanicals of several kinds of desert agave as well as a stunning painting
of a vaquero” (Burwell). Sloane then explains the food and how excellent the salsas are. “We
jump right into the tacos. I loved the Carne Asada; a generous amount of well-cooked asada
arrives, perched on freshly made tortillas” (Burwell). I must agree with him they serve a buttery,
rich, and juicy with a chard-smokey flavor carne asada tender enough to eat in a taco or burrito
or served as a steak and eaten with a knife and fork. I was pleased to read that his favorite salsa
was the pineapple salsa; It’s an absolute favorite as well. At the end of the building, to the left, is
a tiny bar, Sloane explained that the bar was “bedecked” with “loads of liquor” and only “four
barstools” which led him to believe that they were understaffed since only one bartender was
serving eight tables (Burwell). According to Burwell, the entrance feels a bit “wonky” simply
because it’s a side entrance and it almost feels like sneaking backstage, since you walk right into
the cooking line peeking right at the chef. Which is fine with me, I have no problem looking at
the chef and the amazing teamwork in the kitchen. Throughout Sloane’s article, he pointed out
that flavors well developed don’t simply just happen overnight, A lifetime goes into perfecting
