Gender Equality

In a society, everyone has the right to lead his/her life accordingly without
any discrimination. When this state is achieved where all individuals are
considered to be equal irrespective of their caste, gender, colour, profession,
and status, we call it equality. Equality is the situation where every person
has equal rights and opportunities to grow and to prosper.

Every individual in a society dreams that he could have equal rights, equal
access to resources whenever wanted but the dream is crushed by
something known in this world as discrimination. The discrimination can be
due to the cultural differences caste colour and even gender. The most
prevelant discrimination is gender inequality even in the progressive
societies and top organizations we can see certain examples of gender bias

“When my world suddenly changed, my priorities changed too. I had two

options, one was to remain silent and wait to be killed. And the second was to
speak up and then be killed. I chose the second one. I decided to speak up. The
terrorists tried to stop us and attacked me and my friends on 9th October
2012, but their bullets could not win. We survived. And since that day, our
voices have only grown louder. I tell my story, not because it is unique, but
because it is not. It is the story of many girls… Though I appear as one girl, one
person, who is 5ft 2in tall, if you include my high heels. I am not a lone voice, I
am many.
I am Shazia. I am Kainat Riaz. I am Kainat Somro. I am Mezon. I am Amina. I
am those 66 million girls who are out of school.”

Some heart wrenching words by Malala Yousufzai who is The youngest Nobel
Prize laureate, this Pakistani activist for female education who survived the
attack of Taliban activist gave an inspiring speech inspiring and uniting many
like her who faced the same atrocities like her who are fighting the same fight
reminding all that they are never alone

Once all the menaces from our society will be eradicated, every family will
understand the value of a woman and our country will achieve gender
equality in a real sense. Women are creating examples everywhere and we
all should highlight them to change the scenario and give them equal rights.

With so much potential, it is only a matter of time when women will overtake
men and have all their abilities on display for the world to see!
