As the founder of a boutique IT services company, I wear multiple hats daily. In a month, my time is
roughly comprised of the following:

The following are some of the specific tasks I perform and accomplishments:
 Technical working session with a very large enterprise client to identify their existing IT
architecture, implementation specifics and any gaps regarding their business needs.
 Working with a salesperson to decipher the results of a meeting with a client and map their
needs to capabilities of applications they own and services that they may need to leverage
those capabilities.
 Acting as third-level support for field consultants who need assistance understanding the
details of a new application they’ve encountered during an integration engagement.
 Working with the CFO to review our financial position with regard to current and future
staffing levels and R&D investments.
 Acting as a project manager leading one or more meetings for various ongoing engagements.
 Writing an application in ASP.net, PowerShell, HTML and JavaScript as part of a deliverable
for a client.
 Manage a team of 40 consultants and 5 back-office staff providing expert level IT
implementation services for large enterprises.
 Create and manage contracts and project plans for engagements ranging from software
upgrades to cloud migration efforts, with project budgets up to $2 million.
 Generate annual revenue of $12 million.
 Direct resources and schedules for projects with budgets up to $100 million and involving up
to 200 people implementing ERP systems, network infrastructure, ITSM, databases, and
cyber security.
 Architect and implement enterprise solutions comprising multiple applications and
programming languages.

 Architected and deployed an internal suite of applications to manage all communication,
time-tracking, project management and budgets. The solution consists of Google Workspace
(for email, documents, calendar, internal web meetings and automation), Amazon Chime for
external web meetings, Wix for website, Blogger for blog, IFTTT for intra-service
automation, Google Cloud Compute to host VMs running the LAMP stack, and Zoho CRM
for customer relationship management.
 Defined KPIs and associated reports to provide timely status on essential company functions.
 Led company expansion into Canada.

Digital Transformation Lead for a large healthcare project 2018-2022


 Supervised business analysis and subsequent ITIL assessment for a large IT department to
determine how well they were following their own ITIL documents.
 Architected and led the merging of IT departments after several mergers and acquisitions.
 Managed the implementation of several identity and access management solutions spanning
multiple operating systems and internal applications.
 Managed a project focused on using Morpheus from MorpheusData.com to orchestrate
provisioning of multiple VMs and containers in AWS, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, VMware,
OpenStack and Kubernetes environments.
 Spearheaded efforts to document existing business processes and technologies with the goal
of iteratively automating those processes with the highest business impact.
 Directed a team tasked with creating serverless functions and the APIs to access those
functions in AWS to provide back-end implementation, along with the related OpenAPI (aka
Swagger) documentation.
 Ran a development team responsible for creating GraphQL APIs in Python for Event
Management and Enrichment.

Senior Architect and Technical PM for a Canadian petroleum company project 2016-2017
 Oversaw a team that created educational documentation and videos for all aspects of the
waterfall and Agile software development methodologies, ITIL and COBIT compliance,
enterprise architecture and training.

IT Architect for a large transportation company project 2014-2015


 Consulted on the implementation of Positive Train Control (PTC) OFFICE

Technical PM and ITSM Architect for a large energy company project 2011-2022
 Captained a development team responsible for the creation of a custom web application using
ASP.net, JavaScript, PowerShell, Microsoft Power Automate and BigFix that allowed
administrators to monitor and reboot servers as needed
 Provided business analysis, implementation, and rollout guidance for ServiceNow Core,
ITOM, ITSM and Business Continuity Management (BCM)
 Introduced and implemented AIOps for incident reduction and alarm collation

ITSM Lead and Technical PM for a large banking project 2008-2016


 Implemented network, server, and application discovery and monitoring, with high
availability for the control plane
 Created business service dashboards with application topology to reduce incident triage time
and MTTR
 Supervised a project to develop an internal application to catalog and provision
monitoring/observability for servers and applications in the enterprise, leveraging multiple
monitoring tools.
 Developed and implemented a solution consisting of IBM Cloud Orchestrator, IBM Control
Desk, IBM BigFix, SolarWinds, IBM TADDM, ServiceNow ITOM, Microsoft Flow, Ansible
Tower, and AWS API Gateway to create a fully functional CMDB with Configuration,
Change, Problem, Incident and Remediation processes implemented.

ITSM Consultant for a large insurance company 2003-2004


 Implemented IBM Application Performance Management (APM) to discover and monitor
web applications.
 Created a Chrome plugin to allow a user to sort table data on an existing COTS web
application.

SMART Technologies 1997-1998


Configuration Management Engineer
 Developed and implemented a reproducible CI/CD process on NT systems.
 Created and maintained a web site using Active Server Pages to track the CI/CD process.
 Created an application that helped to build our corporate intranet by dynamically finding all
web servers on the network and adding links to those web servers.
 Implemented and customized PVCS Tracker software for problem management.
 Developed a front-end application using Delphi and InstallShield 5 to provide a common
installation mechanism for the various application components written in different languages.
