SKILL-
Sounding out and blending three letter words.

PREP-

Print the fl owers and pots on cardstock and laminate i f you’ll be using it in a classroom.

Cut the cards al ong the black lines to separate the fl owers and pots. Place them in a basket or
storage box.

PLAY-

To play, g ather a group of students and place the

fl owers face up on the table.. Put the fl owerpots
face down in a pile.

To start, students will choose a fl owerpot card and

read the CVC word on the pot by stretching out each
sound. “f…a…n – fan!”

Once the word is sounded out, students will find the

fl ower with the matching i mage and place the pot
underneath.

Play continues until all of the fl owers have been

“potted!”
