Ten years ago this Sunday the nation was awakened to the horror of terror on our own soil.

From the dust, dirt, fire and ash arose heroes and revealed villains. From the pain of the day a nation paused to pray and to seek Gods presence. This Sunday we will reflect on the events of September 11, 2001. It will be a time of worship and prayer. It will be a time of remembering. Please plan to join us in this time of reflection and renewal. On Sunday September 18, we will have our traditional Tailgate Party and high attendance in Sunday School. Teachers please set your goal this Sunday. Come in your favorite team attire and plan to stay for the lunch to follow. My challenge to the congregation is to have 600 in Sunday School on the 18th. Why that number? Because we have the space to reach that many. We have the potential prospects and inactive members to exceed that number. And, we can use that number as a reminder of what we can do when we obey the Lord. Tithes and offerings are the only way the church finances its programs and ministries. Your giving is imperative to advance the work of God in this place. Be obedient in giving. See you Sunday, Paul

SOUTHLAND VOCAL BAND Thanks for your support of the Southland Vocal Band last Sunday night. They are a versatile group, able to do ladies trios, mens quartets and mixed group singing. I even noticed they sang 3 selections that the Chancel Choir has shared! Thanks for using music to help you worship the Lord. PROPERTY COMMITTEE MEETING We welcome Wendell Nix, Jr., Michael Widner and Cathie Wiggins as new members of the FBC Property Committee. They join Dwayne Kelly, Janet Bell, Roger Edmunds, Darren Deal, Rufus Powell and Chairman-Mike Conder. Our next meeting is Tuesday, September 13 at 6:30 PM. Please take the time to share any property concerns with them. They are here to serve! SONS OF JUBAL CONCERT Many who attended the recent SOJ concert in Quitman shared how much they enjoyed that time of worship. They also wanted others to share the same experience. Heres your chance. The Sons of Jubal will be singing at the Withers Auditorium of the Colquitt County High School in Moultrie, GA on Thursday, September 15. The van is reserved and a signup sheet is in the office for those wanting to go. Invite friends and acquaintances. You will be blessed. Just ask someone who knows! Art

High Attendance Day September 18 Please set your Sunday School Class Goal and start working toward that goal. It will be a tailgate party so lunch will be served following Morning Worship in the Fellowship Hall. There will be no Evening Worship that night. World Hunger World Hunger emphasis will be starting the week of October 9. There will be a collection of canned goods and items for the schools food backpacks on that Sunday. Wednesday night October 12 the supper menu will consist of blackeyed peas and rice only. This represents what other countries only have to choose from. This should make us more aware of how fortunate we are in America. Fall Festival Fall Festival will be held Wednesday, October 26 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM in the church parking lot.

Youth of the Week Josh Smith is the son of Roger and Tana Smith. He is a senior at Bainbridge High School and is also attending Bainbridge College. In his spare time, Josh enjoys fishing, hunting, tennis, camping and playing the drums, which he plays with the FBC youth praise band, MARTUS. Casting Crowns Concert Casting Crowns will be in Dothan on Saturday, November 12! We have purchased 50 tickets for youth at a cost of $25, which includes transportation. In order to be assured a ticket, payment must be made in advance. Payment may be dropped at the church office, or given to Tina either Sunday or Wednesday. Dont miss this exciting concert!! High Attendance Day Sunday, September 18, is High Attendance Day! This is a great time to encourage fellow youth members to be in Sunday School and church. Unfortunately, sometimes not going to church becomes a habit but a word of encouragement from someone may be all it takes to break that habit. So, give it a tryreach out to someone you havent seen at youth activities in a while and invite them back. Look for more details about High Attendance Day in the days ahead!
