Us! You'll have to do google searches to get enough information to answer some questions, but should only use the actual Facebook or
Instagram profile/page that matches the one in SRT (so they should have the same profile photo, for example). To help find the
correct FB/IG profile/page, you should use key words like the state the person is running in along with their name. You should also try
different variations of their name if there are multiple in SRT. If you still can't find the profile of the candidate by searching their
names, you could also copy/ paste one of their recent posts with text and find the search results filter to " posts".

Meme/spoof questions

The way this question is worded in SRT is a bit misleading. Only select “Yes” for this question if the account looks like it was made to
mock the politician in question or to be an entirely satirical account. Accounts that post memes or that are often satirical are often not
meme/spoof questions according to this criteria. (I’ve personally never seen a job where I would select “Yes” in response to this
question)

If two names match it’s a Full Match, if the names are spelled differently but you think they reference the same person it’s a Partial
Match. If you think it’s a different person it’s “No” for no match

Photo matching

Sometimes you’ll need to go through the profile to find a good photo of the person in the account to check against Google search
results. This question always requires off-platform research

No vs Unable to Verify

If there’s information available and something doesn’t match, select No. If there’s no information to check against (no profile picture,
no website, etc.) then select Unable to Verify.

For Photo matching specifically, if the FB or IG profile has a photo, the answer is always either Yes or No. Unable to Verify is only
used if there’s no clear picture of the person anyways

State matching

If the account doesn’t say what state they’re in but it provides information you could use to infer the state, like what University or city
they work at, then it should be used to determine if it’s a Yes for Match or No for No Match

Reason This is the first image on this person’s feed:

However, this is still not a meme/spoof account, so the answer to the question should have been “No”.

A meme/spoof account’s only purpose is to post memes, or to be a joke about a specific political candidate.

A legitimate political candidate can sometimes post memes/jokes, but that doesn’t mean that the account is a
spoof/meme account.

Sometimes, a person only posts memes, but that also doesn’t mean the account is a meme/spoof account,
although it’s probably not being used as an official political account. In order to answer “Yes” to this question, the
account’s only purpose must be as a joke. Posting memes is an indicator than an account might be a
meme/spoof account, but you must consider the account as a whole. Someone’s personal account with a lot of
jokes/memes isn’t a meme/spoof account. The account itself must be part of the joke.
