Getting Started with SRT Project Confidentiality

Getting Started in the Tool

1. You should have received an invite to create an SRT account. You will need this to access the tool in which the project
is done. Please check your junk and spam folders for an email from @fbworkmail.com that looks like this:

2. Follow the steps to claim your account. This video also walks you through the account activation process.
NOTE: A new account is automatically created for you for this project.

3. Navigate to Workplace https://srt.facebook.com/ to sign in to the tool. You should never use this site to contact others,
post, join groups, or follow members.
4. Once you have signed in using the link above, you can navigate to “Community Ops” in
SRT https://review.intern.facebook.com/intern/review to access work.

You should ONLY work in the tool on a computer – never mobile devices as these can result in data loss
The rating tool works best with Google Chrome. Please use the latest version of this browser ONLY and disable ALL its
browser extensions to avoid having issues with the rating tool.
IMPORTANT! DO NOT open the rating tool in multiple tabs or browsers to avoid having issues with the rating
tool and loss of data.
Your computer clock (time zone) should always match your current physical location. Any discrepancy between the two
may cause loss of data. If we lose any data due to this problem, we won’t be able to recover it.
Know that SRT will not work well on anything that is not running full version of Chrome. The tool will also not work on
mobile or tablet devices. You might be able to load the tool, but your ratings will likely not be saved correctly on our end.
Please remember that when you begin work on the SRT tool each day, you need to click on the “Just Go” button
just once. This should only be done when you start work. Do not use the “Assign” button. Raters found to be
assigning themselves large numbers of jobs will be removed from the project as it prevents others from
working on the jobs in the daily queue.

Working in the Tool

Here is a useful overview of the tool and how you can use it

The Single Review Tool (SRT) is the online based tool you will be using to complete your daily tasks for this project. Please
note that you are not required to download any software (other than a Google Chrome web browser) – no plugins or add-ons
need to be installed.

Technical Requirements

Please use the rating tool ONLY on a Google Chrome web browser and disable ALL your browser extensions.
If you do not have Chrome installed on your computer, please visit: https://www.google.com/chrome/
If you already have Chrome installed, make sure it’s the most up-to-date version. Please
visit https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95414?hl=en to learn more about your Chrome version.
You should not use any other browser to complete your work. While the tool may load on Firefox, Safari or
Internet Explorer, your ratings will not be correctly submitted.

Using the SRT – Rating Posts

Using Chrome ONLY, go to: https://srt.facebook.com/ and login using your Appen Workplace email alias (…
@fb.appen.com). You cannot log in using a personal or Appen email. Additionally, you cannot log in with your SRT
account until it has been claimed and you have created your password
Go to the SRT at https://review.intern.facebook.com/intern/review, once log in please make sure that you are in the
“Halo” vertical which you can check in the top left-hand corner of the page.

NOTE: Aside from “Community Ops” there may be different verticals available in SRT. If you are using an old SRT
login, you may need to switch to the "Community Ops" vertical to access the queues for Project Calamity. To do so,
kindly click on the arrows beside the vertical name and select the correct vertical that you wish to be directed to.

level requirements are calculated within these days and not the calendar dates.

NOTE: We suggest selecting the dates for the whole month just to make sure that all hours are accounted.

4. Use the "Breakdown" dropdown to select "Day" to see the hours recorded per day. To see the hours broken down on
which task or queue you worked on, select "Queue" as well.

5. Use the “Columns” dropdown to select the metrics you want to see. Select "Total Decision Time" to see your billable
hours.
1. If there's a difference between "Total Decision Time" and "Total Review Time", it means you have accrued
some "No Handle Time". See the video linked above for more information about this.
2. Only "Total Decision Time" is billable

Rate per Hour = Productivity (jobs/hr) column

Total Job Count = Job Decision Count
Production Hour = Total Review Time

Tool Timer Instructions:

Rate at a Consistent Speed: You must work within the expected rate per hour of consistently throughout your full
production hours. You cannot work through your daily tasks quickly and then leave the tool open idle for the remaining
time. Some ratings won’t take long, while others will need closer attention – but on average you should be spending
about 3-5 minutes to complete all of the questions for each example.
Research Time: You will often need to briefly review the post content to determine which issues are on topic. It is
recommended that you do not spend more than 15 minutes reviewing the account content in a separate tab. After this
time, you should return to the ratings tab to check the title again and enter your rating(s). The timer will stop tracking if
you are away from the ratings tab too long.
Avoid Being Idle on the Rating Tab: When you are on the rating tab itself, avoid being idle for more than 1 minute.
Time spent in the tool should either be for researching or submitting your ratings. If you need time to determine the
rating, review the post in a separate tab to make use of your research time instead. Do not sit idle on the ratings tab
itself.
Only Work in One Browser: You should work in the latest version of Google Chrome with all extensions disabled. You
should only ever work in one browser window. Research should be conducted in a separate tab within the same
browser. Consultants found to be submitting ratings in multiple browsers in the same session will be removed from the
project.
Dump Jobs When Inactive: If you need to take a break, are not actively rating, or have finished for the day, you should
Dump the jobs currently assigned to you.
