SPMC Requirements for Students Before RLE Exposure

1. Has completed the following vaccinations (submit vaccine card or medical certificate):
a. Fully vaccinated and Boosted (Covid-19 vaccines)
b. Flu and/or pneumococcal vaccination
● Student can opt to get both vaccines or only one
● Flu vaccine will be needed annually
c. Hepatitis B Vaccination
● For those who were previously vaccinated with hepatitis B, get a hepatitis (quanti and
quali) laboratory test to determine whether you still need to be vaccinated or not. If not,
submit a medical certificate from your physician and attach the laboratory result.
2. Medical Certificate showing fitness to go on duty (must be physically and mentally fit with good moral
character)
● If diagnosed with any mental health problem, submit a medical certificate from a psychiatrist.
This will be confidential.
● Medical certificates can be issued by the University Clinic by the start of the 1st semester for
free. They will only be issued after providing the following laboratory results: (the results should
be used within a month of testing)
○ Complete Blood Count
○ Urinalysis
○ Fecalysis
○ Chest X-ray
○ *optional* hepatitis (quanti and quali)
● If you opt to get your medical certificate from the clinic, it will be scheduled by Ma’am Bang.
Kindly wait for the announcement. However, you can already start getting your medical
certificate from your respective physician.
3. Must be registered with PhilHealth covering the medical expenses related to COVID-19. If the student
will be tested covid-19 positive, the school provides guaranteed hospital support to their student.
● If the student has his/her own PhilHealth card, the student must contribute a certain amount
monthly for him/her to benefit from the membership.
4. Attendance to Orientation on SPMC General Students Affiliation and Infection Prevention and Control
Unit Guidelines. The affiliate cannot proceed to the clinical rotation once he/she fails to attend the said
orientation. A certificate will be issued once the affiliate completed the entire duration of the orientation.
● The orientation will be held online. Attendance is mandatory before hospital duty.
5. Schools must inform the students and their parents/ guardians that the students might be exposed to
infections including COVID 19 as they rotate in the hospital and other risks of hospital rotations -

6. Signed Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality Agreement - https://bit.ly/SPMCNDA that will be valid for the
students' rotation with SPMC and will be filed in the school

NOTE:
- Submission of requirements will be given to Ma’am Mae at the Nursing Skills Lab (Funda Lab),
including the vaccination certificate and PhilHealth MDR/card photocopy. The documents will no longer
be passed at the Dean’s office.
- All documents that will be submitted must be a photocopy of the original document. The original copy
will be kept by the student in their paraphernalia bag.
- All vaccinations will require a medical certificate
- All documents should be stapled together. Numerous photocopied documents can be placed on one
bond paper, it is not necessary to place only one document on one page. However, please make sure
that it can still be read. Save paper:). No need to place the documents on a brown envelope.
- Deadline of requirements: 3rd week of August (Aug. 14-19)

Uniforms
● Type A - Hospital Wards (2-3 sets will suffice)
● Type B - Delivery Room, Operating Room, ICU, other special areas
● Type C - RLE classes, Delivery Room, Operating Room, Emergency room, Psych ward, CHN, other
special areas
● Smock Gown - will be worn when running hospital errands while wearing the type B uniform (this is
different from a lab gown as it is longer and has no pockets, only slits on the side)
● Ateneo Standard - Lecture Classes

● Do not register GE classes during your RLE schedule. For example, if your RLE schedule is MTW, do
not register your GE classes on those days, only on ThFS to avoid conflict of classes.

used anymore)

- White shoes (not slip-ons or crocs; should be rubber, no type of cloth. Different
from the ones worn when wearing your type C uniform)
- Exhibit forms in a clearbook (wait for further instructions)
2. CHN
- Navy blue or black cane umbrella
- CHN bag (provided by AdDU)
- MMDST kit (wait for further instructions)

Books
- NANDA
- Drug Handbook or MIMS
● MIMS is used by doctors. The disadvantage of using MIMS is the absence of a
nursing intervention
