The table chart illustrates the percentage of energy conserved from Alternative
resources in the UK and the number of staff in 2009.
Overall, the proportion of energy generated by Hydropower and Wind power were the most significant sources of energy in 2009. They were the highest figures among all energy supplies but used the lowest employees. Meanwhile, that of Solar energy had an opposite trend, it took up the lowest percentage of energy but used the most workers compared to others. The proportion of Hydropower was the highest at 13.7% and utilized only 1,013 people to conserve energy. Meanwhile, the energy produced by Solar supplies was 3.6%, which was two times lower than that produced by Geothermal power and Tidal power, respectively. In terms of employees, solar energy required the highest number of staff at 12,450 people, which was six times and twelve times higher than that of Tidal supplies and Hydropower, respectively. On the other hand, Wind power required the second lowest number of employees after Hydropower, while the percentage of energy produced was quite significant at 10.2%.
