G7- ALTRUIST

April 2, 2024 (1:00-2:00)

Learning Competencies:

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:
a.) Define academic writing;
b.) Make an essay related to the topic academic writing; and
c.) Share their thoughts about the topic academic writing.

d.) LEARNING CONTENT SUBJECT MATTER


a) Topic: The Features of Academic Writing
b) Reference: Self- Learning Module in English 7
c) Materials: Ppt, Laptop and TV.

e.) Procedure:

Preliminary Activities

a) Prayer

Greetings
Classroom Management

b.) Review

The teacher will ask and recall the learners about the previous topic.

Let the student answer.

c.) Motivation

Students will arrange the scrambled words that associate the word
ACADEMIC.

Direction: The student will be divided into two groups and select one
representative in each word to arrange the letters.

d.) Presentation/Analysis

The teacher will present an example of academic writing, and the teacher
will ask a few questions about the presentation.

e.) Discussion/Abstraction

The teacher will have a quick discussion about the topic.

f.) Application

The students are task to find a partner.

DIRECTION: Make an essay related to the topic (Academic Writing) and


they will choose their own topic of interest. Present it in the class.

g.) Generalization

The teacher will have a little recap about the topic.

h.) Valuing
The purpose of academic writing is to explain some idea or research
finding and to persuade readers that your explanation or theory is the
correct one. In doing so, you may need to describe an object, place, or
activity. Good academic achievement allows students to enhance and
develop essential skills required for a successful life. Students get to
develop important life skills such as leadership, time management,
effective communication, logical thinking, problem-solving, and many
more.

f.) Evaluation/ Assessment

The student will answer the following questions on a ½ crosswise.


1. What is academic writing?
2. What is the purpose of academic writing?
3. Give at least 3 features of academic writing and explain.

g.) Assignment/Agreement

Study the topic that have been discussed.

h.) Remarks
