General Instructions for Project Work

BCA – 6th Semester


1. Students are required to give the Title of the Project latest by 29-01-2024 and Synopsis
should be submitted before 13-02-2024.
2. There can be maximum 02 students in a group for a project.
3. If other group wishes to make project on the same topic, then the technology and modules
must be different and the name of the module must be mentioned along with the Project
name on the title page.
4. The Project need to be dynamic in nature (Static project will not be accepted /
considered)
5. Students should use their Laptop for the Project work so as to avoid the issues w.r.t.
Database connectivity / path specifications.
6. Students are required to exchange their e-mail ID’s and mobile numbers with their project
guides assigned by the college.
7. Continuous assessment will be done every 15 days on the basis of progress of Project
therefore Student should report to his / her project guide along with the progress.
8. Proper Index along with the page numbers must be there in the final project report and
numbering of pages in the report must start after the index.
9. Minimum number of pages must be 60 excluding all the certificates and chapter headings.
10. Students should get their final reports approved, by their respective internal project guides
before binding.
11. Students are required to prepare a PowerPoint presentation for the final
internal/external project viva-voce and minimum no. of PPT’s should be 15.
12. The student / group must prepare 2 hard copies of the report including one copy for
self along with the soft copy of the project (in Pen Drive / CD).
13. The student has to submit the soft copy of the project along with database at the time of
Viva-Voce.
14. It is the duty of the student to be in touch with his internal guide and show the project time
to time, so as to avoid any problem.
15. The marks given in the internal viva-voce to the students will be based on the over-all
performance of the student during the whole project duration, project report etc.

Printing Guidelines

Each student should observe the following while submitting the Project:
 Use A4 size sheet
 The Font size must be 12 and the font should be Times New Roman.
 The Font size of Headings must be 14 and the font should be Times New Roman.
 Left and Right, Top and Bottom Margins should be one inches each.
 Paragraph Spacing in total report should be 0 (before / after).
 Don not use enter key unnecessarily.
 Use one and half line spacing in the text (instead of double space).
 Don’t use blank sheet before the page, carrying figure or table.
 Try to insert figure / table in the text page itself (instead of using a fresh page for it,
each time.)
 Softcopy of the work is also to be submitted to the college along with the report.
 Use both sides of the paper instead of only single side.

Acknowledgement
Acknowledgement should not be more than one page. It should be signed by the student & should thank
the following in given order only:
1. Project Guide appointed by the College.
2. HoD
3. Principal of the College
4. Rest.

Note: There must be at least one paragraph for the thanks of each.

 Introduction to Project or Product / Problem Assigned (includes background and application or
importance of the project)

 Requirement Analysis :

 Requirement Specification Document consisting of :
 Introduction to SRS
 General Description of project (i.e., functions, characteristics, constraints, assumptions
etc).
 Certain specific requirements (i.e, inputs & outputs, functional requirements, Hardware &
Software requirements etc).
 Software Design
 System Design
 Architectural Design (i.e., DFD’s)
 User Interface Design
 Component Level/ Detailed Level Design (Functional Design)
 Coding
 Approach used Top Down/Bottom up
 In absence of Codes (write modular level function & detailed functioning with screens)
 Testing
 Test Cases & Test Criteria
 Implementation & Evaluation of Project (Listing of well commented programs with result/output or
detailed algorithms with input and output)

 Further scope of the project

The last pages of the report should have the following topics:
