I. OBJECTIVES
 Mathematics- Introduce latitude and longitude as coordinates on a
grid system, relating them to the Cartesian coordinate system used in
Learning Across mathematics.
Curriculum  Social Studies/History- Examine historical exploration and
navigation, focusing on how latitude and longitude were crucial for
early explorers in mapping and navigating new territories.
Specific Objectives At the end of the discussion, the learners should be able to:
 Differentiate between lines of latitude and longitude based on
their characteristics and purposes
 Attempt to explore and understand the significance of
coordinates in global geography and navigation
 Demonstrate the ability to locate the given longitude and latitude
coordinates
The learners demonstrate understanding of the relation of geographical

 The teacher will ask questions.
 The students will STAND UP if the answer is YES, and they will
SIT DOWN if the answer is NO.

2. Did you give directions to the driver?
3. Did you get lost going to your classroom?
4. Did you bought a snack first before entering the classroom?
5. Did you use a GPS or Google Maps in order to locate your classroom?

C. Explore

Instructions:
 The class will be divided into four.
 Each group will be given a jigsaw puzzle of a country map and they
will assemble it.
 They will be given 5 minutes to complete the jigsaw puzzle. They
will present their outputs afterwards using the following questions.

Guide Questions:
1. What country did you assembled?
2. In what part of the world you can find that country?
3. How can we find that country?

The teacher will give an activity.

ACTIVITY: I Would Cross The Globe For You

Instructions:
 The teacher will present names of different continent and countries.
 Using the globe and map, they will search for the given continent
and country.

Guide Questions:
1. On which continent does the Philippines belong?
2. Give at least five countries near the Philippines.
3. What ocean is nearest to the Philippines?
4. What land areas are located on the southern part of the Philippines?
5. What is the capital city of Philippines?

The teacher will show a short video about latitude and longitude.
