To our school principal, beloved teachers, supportive parents, fellow dreamers, and all of

us here, good afternoon.

All of us are full of dreams and goals that we wish to achieve after all our studies. These
dreams perhaps started when we were still young when we were still starting to discover and
appreciate the beauty of life. But as time passes, we have noticed some changes in our dreams.
Take, for instance, one who wished to become a doctor when he was 10, but he discovered that
he was good at making houses, so he shifted his dreams to architecture or engineering. However,
he met friends who were serving at the church, and he began to fall in love with the liturgy and
God, and he ended up entering the seminary. Interest, friends, parents’ guidance, teachers’
expectations, and peer pressure—all of these could help us discover more in ourselves, more so
in knowing what path to take and what vocation to choose for the future.

Our goals become our stepping stones as we reach our end. And these goals are formed
with friendship, courage, hope, and love as we conduct our career guidance week. May this event
continue to inspire us to discover more of ourselves and to recognize other people’s guidance,
such as our parents, teachers, distinguished speakers, and most especially the guidance of God.
And to meet the ultimate end, may we not look only for our good but for the betterment of
society and of course through prayers. Let us be reminded of what Dr. Jose Rizal said: that we
are the future of our society. May this event guide us, motivate us, and help us strive for
excellence and holiness. Journey with friendship, push forward with courage, do not lose hope,
and do everything you love; do everything with love, for it is love alone that gives worth to all
things.
Lastly, whatever course we take or whatever vocation we choose, let us be reminded, as the
Bible would put it that our ultimate end is to know and to love God. We have our dreams but let
us not forget and let us also acknowledge the plan of God for us. Let us be open to Him and let
us ask His guidance always.

Thank you, and good afternoon.
