Answer ALL the following. 20 x 5 = 100 Marks
1. (a)Draw an ellipse with a distance of the focus from the directrix is 50mm and the eccentricity is 2/3. Also
draw a tangent and normal at any point on the curve.
(or)
(b)Draw the front and top views of the following.

2. (a)A straight line 85 mm long has one end 15 mm in front of VP and 10 mm above HP. Whilethe other end is
50 mm infront of VP and 45 mm above HP. Draw the plan and elevation of theline. Determine the inclinations
of the line to HP and VP.
(or)
(b)A rectangular lamina of sides 20 mm X 30 mm rests on HP on one of its longer edges. The lamina is tilted
about the edge on which it rests till its plane surface is inclined to HP at 45 deg. The edge on which it rests
is inclined at 30 deg. to VP. Draw its projections of the lamina.
3. (a)A cone of base diameter 40 mm and altitude 80 mm rests on the HP with its axis inclined at 30 to the HP
and parallel to the VP. Draw its front and top views.
(or)
(b)Draw the projection of a pentagonal prism of 30mm base edge and axis 60mm long when the axis is
inclined at 45° to HP and parallel to VP with an edge of the base on HP.
4. (a)A cylinder of diameter 40 mm and height 50 mm is resting vertically on one of its ends on the HP. It is
cut by a plane perpendicular to the VP and inclined at 30o to the HP. The plane meets the axis at a point 30
mm from the base. Draw the development of the lateral surface of the lower portion of the truncated cylinder.
(or)
(b)A cylinder, 40 mm diameter and 60 mm long is resting on its base on HP. It is cut by a section plane
perpendicular to VP, inclined at 450 to HP and passing through the midpoint of the axis. Draw the front view,
sectional top view and true shape of the section.
5. (a) A square of pyramid 30 mm axis length 50 mm is certainly placed on the top of a cube of side 50
mm, Draw the isometric projection of solids.
(or)
(b)A regular hexagonal pyramid of base edge 20 mm and height 35 mm rests on its base on the ground plane
with one of its base edges touching the picture plane. The station point is 30mm above the ground plane and
40 mm infront of the PP. The central plane is 30 mm to the right of the axis. Draw the perspective projection
of the pyramid.
