Session Title: Simplifying Fractions
Session Objectives: At the end of the session, learners will be able to:
a) identify equivalent fractions
b) simplify fractions
c) create a self-reflection on the importance of fractions in the
community involvement
Key Concepts:  Understand the context of fractions.
 Integrating real-life experience to analyze relevance on fractions.

Activity 1: Review of Simplifying Fractions
Introduction and Materials: Activity sheet
10 mins
Warm-Up  Learners will be given activity sheets.
 For 10 minutes, the learners will read and understand
about the topic.
Activity 2: Naming the fraction of the shaded part of a figure.
Materials: Activity sheet
 The students will name the fraction of the shaded part
of the figure. Simplify. You May refer to the possible
answer inside the box.

Exploration
Materials: Activity sheet, coloring materials
 The students will shade the following figure with the
indicated fraction.

Activity 4: Fraction Fun: Solving Problem with Fraction

 The students will read and analyze the problem and
write their answers in a fraction form.
