(ii) Parameters for evaluation of the project (evaluation matrix) progress at the end of each
quarter with specific deliverables

Methodology and Work Plan:

(a) State the methodology in a sequence of clearly defined steps leading to achievement
of the stated objectives:

Step1: Collaborate with NGOs working with the Konda Reddy tribe to reach them and
disseminate different technology interventions. Through capacity building programmes
identify volunteer evangelists from Konda Reddy tribe who help to communicate with
other people from those tribes and disseminate developed interventions.
Step2: Document literature, indigenous knowledge of Konda Reddy Tribe.
Step3: Establish Tribal Hub, develop and disseminate a portal and app integrated with
tribal tourism to display products, produce, culture and performance of Konda Reddy
Tribe.
Step4: The design intervention will help to increase product basket for bamboo
handicrafts.
Step5: Develop minimum viable products, fabricate, after designing and e –market
them.
Step6: Prefabricated steel house with bamboo with solar lantern and bio toilet.
Then demonstrate those among Konda Reddy tribes, install and take feedback to iterate to
produce optimum solution to roll out.

Plan for the project with milestones, Manpower and lab for the project, Identified

optimum solution, Final report for submission.

(d) How the proposed STI solutions help in improving the livelihoods/livelihood system
of target population in terms of their income, social status, health, nutrition,
education etc,

The major occupation of Konda Reddis is shifting slash and burn cultivation (Podu) of small
millets, hunting of animals and collecting edible fruits, nuts, roots, leaves from the forest. Due to
restriction of shifting cultivation by forest department Reddis are adapting themselves from
slash and burnt cultivation to permanent cultivation with ploughs and bullocks while some,
capable of felling and transporting bamboos have transitioned to labourers. This transition made
the Reddis to become entirely dependent on Merchants. The merchants took advantage of their
inability to make any simple calculation or check any transaction. As such, most of the Reddi
forest labourers have become bond-servants at the mercy of their employers. Moreover, being
illiterate, the reddis lose their count of deliveries by the time they were paid, which enables the
merchants to divert the wages to their own pockets.

(a) Outline your idea or solution you plan to develop:

⮚ Tribal Hub, portal and app integrated with tribal tourism to display products, produce, culture and

performance of Konda Reddi Tribe
