PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
KanCide – 6902 is a VOC free, isothiozolinone based biocide for the wet state preservation of aqueous formaldehyde-sensitive
formulations.
TYPICAL PROPERTIES
Kancide 6902 has a very broad activity spectrum against bacteria, yeast and moulds. Typical MIC (minimum inhibitory
concentration) values against relevant spoilage organisms are as follows.
KanCide 6902 is suitable for the wet-state preservation of a wide range of aqueous products including paints, polymer
emulsions, adhesives, ceramic glazes, fillers and sealants and as a tank-side additive for ready-diluted metalworking fluids.

ADDITION / COMPATIBILITY
Kancide 6902 can be added at any time during manufacturing. However, it is advised to add it as early as possible to give
protection throughout the production process. Care should be taken to ensure that temperature, pH and redox potential at the
point of addition are suitable o the product.
Kancide 6902 is compatible with most formulations in which its application is recommended and it may be used in
formaldehyde sensitive systems. Reducing agents, amines and other strong nucleophiles can cause degradation of the active
ingredients.
STORAGE
The product should not be stored in direct sunlight. If stored at ambient temperatures the product should be used within 12
months from the manufacture date.
HANDLING
Avoid contact with eye or prolonged contact with skin. Do not take internally. In case of contact with skin/eye, wash/flush with
plenty of water and seek immediate medical attention. In case of ingestion, wash mouth thoroughly and drink plenty of water.
Do not induce vomiting and seek medical attention. Avoid extremes of temperature and wear gloves and goggles wherever
appropriate.
