There are various commercial products available to attract and kill fruit fly. Some products are all in one. Others requ ire the fruit fly attractant plus the purchase of an insecticide. There are also home made recipes to attract fruit fly and homemade traps. However trapping or killing fruit fly is not the whole answer. Other basic control measures are essential for back yard garde ns. Pruning trees to a reasonable height, pick up and bag all fallen fruit, pick fruit early, remove fruit trees that are being neglected Also, it is important not to travel with fruit as you may be giving fruitfly larvae a free ride. http://preventfruitfly.com.au/ http://www.fightthefruitfly.org/
