YHP Trios Team Tournament Player Packet
The Trios Team Tournament is a casual event for players of all ages and skill levels that is focused on fun, theme, and
sportsmanship. Teams of three compete in three rounds of thematic armies, awesome displays, exciting games, and
camaraderie.
Army Construction
Each team member should prepare one "singles" list of up to 2,000 points, and each team member should also prepare
one "doubles" list of up to 1,000 points. Players may use different factions from one another, but each player's doubles
army must be the same army faction as their own singles list. Keep narrative and theme in mind when choosing factions!
No Epic Hero may be used by more than one player. For example, if Player A fields Eldrad Ulthran in their 2000pt army,
he could also be fielded in Player A’s 1000pt army but could not be used in Player B’s 1000pt army.
Doubles armies must be constructed so that no Battleline or Dedicated Transport unit appears more than 6 times in any
combination of two lists, and no other unit appears more than 3 times in any combination of two lists.
Doubles armies may use up to two enhancements each, but the enhancements chosen must be unique. No doubles lists
may repeat enhancements.
Trios Pairing
Over the course of 3 rounds, each member of your Trio will play one "singles" game and two "doubles" games, meaning
each player will play once by themselves with a full 2000pt army, and once with each of their teammates. No one plays
solo more than once, and no pairings can be repeated. Please indicate on your trio’s 2000pt lists which will play first,
second, and third.
Rules for Doubles Games
● Double teams are treated as a single player for the purposes of gaining, generating, and refunding Command
Points.
● Army Rules and Detachment Rules that are shared by both halves of a Double team are treated as though the
team was a single player (e.g., One Fated dice per team per phase, one Oath of Moment target per phase, one
Combat Doctrine applies to both Gladius Task Force detachments, etc.).
● Aside from Army Rules and Detachment Rules that are shared as mentioned above, auras, psychic powers, and
other abilities that benefit friendly units will only apply to the player’s own 1000-point army, even if they share a
faction or keyword with their teammate.
● Stratagems, abilities, powers, and actions that are limited to once per player per phase, turn, etc. are instead
limited to once per team.
● Teammates may not embark in each other’s transports, benefit from each other’s buffs, or attach Leaders to
each other’s units.
● Teammate’s armies are considered friendly otherwise and are not affected by auras, powers, or other abilities
that only apply to enemy units.
Only team captains will be registered in the Best Coast Pairings app. Scores are not reported to the ITC. Follow normal
scoring rules for each game. Add the results of both of a team’s games (singles and doubles) together to get a total score
out of a max of 200. This is the score that should be reported.
