Read all precautions and instructions in
this guide before moving the Tread.
The Peloton Tread was not designed for
assembly and installation by consumers.
The Peloton Tread Assembly Guide is
intended to assist trained, professional
installers, using specialized tools, in
disassembling, assembling, and moving
the Peloton Tread. The Peloton Tread
is extremely heavy and requires more
than one person to assemble and/
or move. Improper assembly of the
Peloton Tread can lead to serious injury.
Damage or equipment failure resulting
from the improper or negligent assembly,
disassembly or relocation will not be
covered under Peloton’s warranties. If you
use this Assembly Guide to assemble,
disassemble, or move the Peloton Tread,
you do so entirely at your own risk. By
undertaking disassembly or assembly of
your Peloton Tread, you agree to waive and
release Peloton from any and all claims
that you may have resulting from the
disassembling, assembling or moving of
the Peloton Tread by anyone other than a
trained professional.

Before proceeding with disassembly, please validate and document that 1. R E M O V E T H E T O U C H S C R E E N

the Tread is fully functional. Damage or equipment failure resulting from
the improper or negligent assembly, disassembly or relocation will not be
covered under Peloton’s warranties. If there is an existing issue with the
Tread, please contact Peloton support to resolve the issue before proceeding
with disassembly.
1 Pull off the monitor mount cap and the back cover.
2 Unplug the Smart Card cable from the touchscreen and the U-rail.
3 Unscrew the four monitor bolts.
4 Lift the touchscreen off the mount.

y y Remove any items from the tray and side compartments.

y y Run the Home Installer app to document that the Tread is fully functional.
To run the app, tap the icon at the bottom right corner of the home screen
and select Home Installation. 1 2
y y Shut down, switch off, and unplug the Tread.
y y Remove the safety key from the console.
y y Make sure you have at least two people available to complete the
disassembly process.

y y The internal components of the Tread are sensitive and could be damaged
by excessive bumps or vibrations during the moving process. Take care to
make the Tread’s trip to its new location as smooth as possible.
y y Always carry and store the Tread deck flat and right-side up.
y y Wrap parts, including the touchscreen, in blankets or other soft materials
to protect them from damage.
y y Tape down the red gaskets on the U-rails--these could fall off during
transport.
LO C AT I O N R E Q U I R E M E N T S
ELECTRICAL
When installing the Tread, make sure that the electrical installation
complies with all local codes and ordinances. Consult an electrician if you
are not sure whether the outlet can support the Tread.
y y Make sure the Tread is within less than 4’ of an outlet. The provided
power cord must reach the outlet with some slack and without passing
underneath the Tread.
y y Always use the provided power cord. Do not use extension cords.
y y Use a grounded circuit capable of carrying 15 or more amps. Do not
attach other appliances to the same circuit.
y y Avoid GFCI outlets.

y y Install the Tread on a hard, flat, stable surface. Do not put it on a thick
carpet or a rug or mat that could curl or wrinkle. 20"
y y The Tread is for indoor home use only. Do not store the Tread outdoors,
near water, or at high humidity levels.

REASSEMBLING THE TREAD

TOOLS 1. I N S TA L L T H E U P R I G H T S

Ratchet driver (3/8” drive) 1 Plug the two cables at the front of the deck into the right upright.
Torque wrench (3/8” drive) Push the excess cable into the deck
8 mm hex bit 2 Fit the right upright into the tab on the deck. Add six bolts and
5 mm hex bit hand-thread them.
Phillips head screwdriver 3 Add the left upright to the tab on the other side, and hand-thread the
4 fabric panel clips* other six upright bolts.
27 mm wrench or adjustable wrench

*Order clips through Member Support or use zip ties as an alternative.

y y Check that all parts from the parts checklist are present and undamaged.
y y Make sure that the location chosen for the Tread fulfills all the requirements
listed above.
y y Make sure you have at least two people available to complete the assembly
process.

2. ADD THE U-RAIL
1 Fit the U-rail into the uprights.
2 Add the center bolt on each side. Then add the four remaining bolts and
tighten all six to 15 lb-ft/180 lb-in of torque.
3 Connect the cables coming from the right upright to the ones coming
from the U-rail.
4 Snap on both elbow covers. Keep your hands clear of the seams and
make sure the red gasket is visible between the elbow cover and the rail.

1 Tighten the 12 upright bolts to 25 lb-ft of torque.
2 Add two clips or zip ties to the lower edge of each fabric side panel to
fasten them into place.
3 Fit the front end caps onto the corners of the deck. The left and right end
caps are labeled L and R. Make sure the fabric panels are tucked in.
4 Add a safety screw underneath each end cap.

4. ADD THE TOUCHSCREEN 5. LEVEL THE DECK

1 Fit the touchscreen onto the mount while a second person secures it.
2 Attach the green grounding wire to the top left monitor mount bolt.
Secure all four bolts to 5 lb-ft/60 lb-in of torque.
One bolt MUST be grounded. Attach the green grounding wire
to the top left bolt.
3 Plug the Smart Card cable into the back of the touchscreen.
4 Snap on the monitor mount cover and cap.
1 Check the deck. If it rocks or wobbles when you press down on one of
the back corners, it needs to be leveled.
2 Use a 27 mm wrench or an adjustable wrench to loosen the nut above
each back foot.
3 Unscrew one or both back feet until all four deck feet rest firmly on
the ground.
N O T E : The front feet are not adjustable. Do not attempt to modify the
front feet.
4 Retighten both nuts.

6. LOG INTO WIFI AND RUN THE HOME
I N S TA L L E R A P P

1 Plug the power cord into the tread and the power supply into an outlet.
2 Return the Safety Key to the console.
3 Switch on the Tread and log into a WiFi network.
4 Access and run the Home Installer App from the Settings menu. Test all
features and functions of the Tread before using it.
