Objectives of Rizal Law (1956)
To rededicate the lives of the youth to ideals of freedom and nationalism.
To pay tribute to our national hero for devoting his life and works in shaping the
Filipino character.
To gain an inspiring source of patriotism thru the study of Rizal's life, works and
writings.
- Rizal law or 1425 is important because it allows Filipino students to learn about
the national hero, Jose Rizal, and his revolutionary novels. These novels are
considered the official national myth in the Philippines and are taught at various
educational levels.
- Was signed on June 12, 1956 by late Philippine President Ramon Magsaysay

DIRECTING THE SECRETARY OF EDUCATION, CULTURE AND SPORTS AND THE
CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMISSION ON HIGHER EDUCATION TO FULLY
IMPLEMENT REPUBLIC ACT NO. 1425 ENTITLED “AN ACT TO INCLUDE IN THE
CURRICULA OF ALL PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS, COLLEGES AND
UNIVERSITIES, COURSES ON THE LIFE, WORKS AND WRITINGS OF JOSE RIZAL,
PARTICULARLY HIS NOVELS, NOLI ME TANGERE AND EL FILIBUSTERISMO,
AUTHORIZING THE PRINTING AND DISTRIBUTION THEREOF AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES”

- The main purpose of the law is for maintaining order, establishing standards,
protecting liberties, and resolving disputes.
