Javanese tribe

The general characteristics of the Javanese tribe are that they are shy, have a sense
of shyness, but like to say hello. Javanese are also known to be calm and
hardworking.
Java has a unique tradition that still exists today, such as handover, midodareni,
siraman, balangan suruh, ngetik ceremony, temu manten, nyantri, kacar-kucur ritual,
sungkeman, and so on.
There are many typical Javanese foods, the characteristics of Javanese food are
savory taste, combined with a mild sweetness, and traditional spices.

Some typical Javanese food


1. Soto Kudus
This soup comes from the kudus area, this food contains chicken and vegetables.

2. Grombyang rice
Nasi grombyang is a specialty of central Java, precisely in the Pemalang area. this
food is similar to mixed rice.

3. Garam Asem
This dish features chicken cooked in coconut milk and wrapped in banana leaves.

4. Petis tofu
Tofu petis is a savory snack, originating from Semarang.

5. Semarang spring rolls


Semarang spring rolls have a wide variety of fillings such as chicken, shrimp,
vegetables and bamboo shoots.

6. Gethuk
The main ingredient of this food is cassava or cassava, getuk is a food originating
from Magelang, Central Java.
7. Cenil
Cenil is a traditional Javanese food made from cassava and starch, this food comes
from Pacitan, East Java.

8. Gudeg
Gudeg is a traditional Javanese food made from young jackfruit cooked in coconut
milk.

9. Lethek noodles
These noodles come from Srandakan, Bantul, Yogyakarta and are made from
tapioca flour and cassava.

10. Nasi gandul


Nasi gandul is a traditional food from starch, central Java, where the side dish is
processed danging.

11. Pecel
This food comes from the Madiun and Ponorogo regions of East Java, this food is
usually served with peanut sauce as the main ingredient mixed with several types of
vegetables and given peyek.

The traditional Javanese house is the joglo. As a traditional house, Joglo is known
for its informal design. The design of the structure is then focused on the division of
the Joglo house itself, including: Joglo Pangrawit House.
Javanese dance is usually associated with the graceful, refined, and advanced
culture of the Javanese palace, such as Bedaya and Slimpi. But in a broad sense,
Javanese dance also includes the dances of the Javanese commoners and villages,
such as rongeng, tayub, reog, kuda lumping, etc.
Most Javanese people still use the Javanese language as a way of communicating
with other Javanese people. Interestingly, the local language owned by the Javanese
tribe has ungguh or language levels according to who they are talking to. Javanese
language has at least four levels, namely:
- Ngoko lugu: is the language used to communicate with people of the same age or
younger. For example, communication between friends.
- Ngoko alus: used to communicate with people who are familiar, but still polite. For
example, communication between coworkers.

- Kromo lugu: Used to talk to people who are older or not familiar.
For example, subordinates with superiors.

- Kromo inggil: Just like kromo lugu, kromo inggil is also used to communicate with
people who are older or unfamiliar. The difference lies in the vocabulary used.

Surjan is Javanese traditional clothing or called Kejawen clothing full of Piwulang


Sinandhi. This is an implicit teaching related to Javanese philosophy (Kejawen). This
Javanese traditional clothing means that the lines symbolize simplicity.
