To Whom It May Concern:

Over the last 3 years I have had the pleasure of getting to know Andre McGauley, an
extraordinary young man with enormous potential. He has been a student in my World and U.S.
History classes in his sophomore and junior year. Consequently he earned an “A” in the U.S. for
both semesters. In fact Andre has been successful academically in all his classes, maintaining a
4.0 grade point average throughout high school.

In addition to his studies, Andre has been involved in various non-curricular activities. He has
been a member of the Gauchos Track and Field and Boys Soccer teams, respectively. Having
participated as a varsity athlete in his 2nd and 3rd year of high school. He has also been a
cornerstone on the boys soccer team and has competed on the Varsity level the last three years.
He was awarded many different accolades by his coaches including but in his senior received:
Most Valuable Player.

Andre is a critical thinker, always a hard-working and reliable young man. He is extremely
creative and works hard at the things that are important to him, whether that be: academics,
volunteer service, clubs and personal relationships. He is comfortable with most adults as well as
her own peer group, both male and female. Andre is always a team player and not only will help
others when it is needed, but he is also the first to engage in any activity when others stand
back—even at the risk of seeming foolish. He is attentive and engaged, always asking questions
or offering suggestions. Andre accepts constructive criticism and does whatever it takes to adjust
and improve his work.

Andre is active in the community and is not afraid of putting himself out there and has spent
countless hours refining his leadership skills and volunteering service. He is a past leader in
youth soccer having already volunteered 60 hours to organize youth soccer in Merced and
tutored over 200 hours as an AVID tutor at a middle school in his junior year.

After completing high school Andre envisions himself attending a university while playing
soccer. He plans to major in kinesiology and after that pursue a graduate’s degree to become a
physical therapist.

Although Andre’s abilities are numerous, what makes him such a wonderful person is his
personality. He is a true young man who is mature and respectful to all individuals. In the years
to come I am certain Andre will be successful in any school, career or endeavor he chooses in
life.

Sincerely,

Mario A. Arroyo
