I wish to inform you that the Inter Agency Task Force “Hearts and Minds” will be hosting its
fourth annual parenting workshop on Saturday 28th April, 2018 from 8:00 am to 4:00pm at the
Beetham Gardens Community Centre.

The Inter Agency Task Force “Hearts and Minds Section” was established to assist with the
dissemination of gangs by decreasing gang activities and breaking down perceived territorial
barriers. We have been working diligently throughout the various communities to help curb the
high level of crime and to pre-empt criminal activities.
This parenting workshop began as a pilot project in August, 2015 as an initiative in keeping with
the Commissioner of Police strategic plan, to bridge the gap between residents and the Police
through developmental training programs. The officers started a school intervention program and
have since successfully exposed parents from schools within the East Port of Spain district to
practical strategies and safety systems to enable them to address the issues of proper child care,
healthy lifestyles, safety and protection.

The main objective of this workshop for 2018, is to train, educate and expose one hundred (100)
parents from John John, Beverly Hills, St. Barbs and IATF Police Youth Clubs on parenting
skills and to allow parents to case conference and identify relevant solutions as we strive
continuously on cultural exchange among the youth clubs under the purview of the Inter Agency
Task Force.

To this we are asking for 45 minutes presentation on “Understanding the dynamic of Crime
Stoppers or other valid information for the public.
