Phase: Introduction Time Duration: 10 minutes

Teacher: Do you know about the Pet animals who stay with us in our homes like
cat,dog,rabbit etc.
Students : Yes Teacher
Teacher : It can be hard at times to take care of them. We need to feed our pets,
give them clean water to drink, and take them to the veterinarian when they are
sick. Having a pet is fun, but it’s hard work too. At a farm, however it requires
taking care of lots of different “pets” at the same time. One kind of farm animal is
a cow,who lives in a shed. Most dairy farms have more than a thousand cows.
Farmers sell the milk from their cows to diaries, which turn the milk in ice cream,
cheese, and other products.( Flashcard is shown of a cow with their products).
Students : Point out to the flashcard and name the products we get from the cow
and also make the sound of cows – moo moo
Teacher : Chickens are another common farm animal. They stay in coops and they
lay eggs for us. .( Flashcard is shown of a chicken with their products).
Students : Point out to the flashcard and name the products we get from the
chicken and also make the sound of chickens – cluck cluck
Teacher : Sheep are yet another farm animal who lives in a pen and have thick fur
called wool. People can use wool to make clothing, warm blankets, and other
textile materials. Once a year, the sheep get sheared, which is basically a short
haircut to remove the wool. Then the farmer can sell the wool to companies that
make clothing. .( Flashcard is shown of a sheep with their products).
Students : Point out to the flashcard and name the products we get from the sheep
and also make their sound – baa baa.(Flashcard is shown of a sheep with their
products).
