Programmable Logic Controller PLC (Modular type) The PLC Is required for control, monitor & collecting the data from all the equipment in the site including the power system. 1. General Requirement The PLC should be compatible with all of the requirements of |EC1131. The CPU must be equipped with floating point capability and process control capabilities and real time clock (RTC). The used number of I/O's must not exceed 75% of the maximum capacity of the CPU. All power equipment (transformer, generator, motors, medium and low voltage switchboard, etc.) shall be monitored (On/Off) by ple system. This requires that all electrical equipment shall be capable of transmit thelr status signals to PLC system by Modbus protocol or auxiliary contact. The CPU should be equipped with a built-in memory of at least 2 Mbytes of RAM according to 1EC1131-3. Program memory more than 1 MByte, The IEC-61131-3 program is stored in the program memory. The code memory is a Flash ROM. When power is switched on, the program is transferred from the flash to the RAM memory. After error-free run-up, the PFC cycle starts with the mode selector switch at the top position, or on the Start command from the I/O-PRO. Interface Module Specifications ‘The interface modules should be selected from the product line of the same PLC vendor. The interface modules should secure complete electric isolation between the PLC modules and the field. The modules should be equipped with interchangeable relays. For digital output, PLC's modules the interface module should provide free contact output (electro mechanical type) for each output-point. Each output channel should be protected by a fuse. For digital input module the coil of the solid state relay should be available for connection and not grouped with other coils i.e. the two connection points of the coils are separated. Output interface modules will be interchangeable relay free contact with fuse for each channel, For analogue input/output modules, the interface module should secure channel-to-channel isolation. ‘The interface module should be connected with a prefabricated cable to the PLC module. 4-3-5. Control Panel * The PLC shall be installed in a control panel equipped with HMI in the front of the panel ‘© The control panel shall be protected to 1P54 at least. Industrial Ethernet Switches Industrial Ethernet Switches shall be of a compact design, suitable for top hat rail mounting in the existing equipment cabinets.
