Khalil was “close

friends with Starr. They
grew up together, due to Starr's
father, Maverick Carter, being in
prison for a drug bust.˝ (Fandom).
According to the book, both
teenagers were at a party where
they met again after years without
seeing each other.
After leaving the party, Starr
decides to leave with Khalil in his
car, while he was driving they were
remembering some memories until
a police officer stops the car.
The girl tells her friend the
