BDO Requirements for Claim to

Account of Deceased Depositor

February 01, 2017It is customary for a bank to freeze a depositor's


account once the bank officials learn of the

depositor's death. This can become a great burden for the family
since the funds cannot be withdrawn until certain documentary

requirements are met. (And a very good reason to open an ATM

account with a co-depositor you trust.)

In the event that a Banco de Oro account is frozen due to the death of

the depositor, the following are the mandatory documents before the
heirs can withdraw from the deceased's BDO account:

I. Basic Requirements for ALL Types of Claimant

1. Letter from Claimant

2. Certified True Copy of Death Certificate

3. For Partnership, Document evidencing Dissolution of

Partnership

Note: If the heir/s is/are minor/s with share exceeding Php 50,000
per heir, additional requirements from the representative shall be

submitted:

Court Order on the appointment of the representative as legal

guardian over the person and property of the minor


Guardian's Bond

Letter of Guardianship

II. Additional Requirements for Extrajudicial Settlement of

Estate

(Personal/Individual, Joint "And"/"Or")

1. Deed of Extrajudicial Settlement of Estate/Affidavit of Self


Adjudication

2. Affidavit of Quitclaim with Indemnity Undertaking

3. Certified True Copy of Marriage Contract/Birth Certificate,

whenever applicable

4. True Copy of Heir's Bond


5. Affidavit of Publication

6. Registration with Register of Deeds of Extrajudicial


Settlement/Affidavit of Self Adjudication
7. BIR Certification of Estate Tax payment

III. Additional Requirements for Judicial Settlement of Estate

(Personal/Individual, Joint "And"/"Or")

1. Court Order to Release Funds
