Heyyy,
So, I just walked out of my interview!
Here it begins,
Firstly we were asked to sit in a room, and within no time, 5 students of panel 1
were called !
Mine name was on number 3.
We went for document verification and biometrics, the process was really smooth
and fast!
Then we were asked to sit outside the panel members room!

Now, it comes my turn!
There were 5 members in the panel, 1 female and 4 male.
I entered and greeted them with a smile.
It started with introduction.
Then they further asked to elaborate my mother's occupation, as it was public
sector one !!
They asked about timings and her roles and responsibilities.
Then one sir asked me about the changes in repo rate Nd how customers will be
affected because of it!
The other question was difference between bearer and cross cheque.
Then, a HR related question as I am a graduate in HR.
Then he asked, “do you know about saarc", to which I replied, I don't have much
knowledge about it, it is something related to south asian countries, then he said
leave tell me about G20
And that I had prepared, gave a brief intro about it.
Then, he said as you know India's economy is growing at a rapid rate, still it is a
developing country. Why so ?
Then at last he asked about my father!
Then they said , okay sanjana, you may go now
We are already running late, otherwise or baatein karte!
Then I said thankyou to each one of them , and left!
It was a healthy conversation, all of them were very good in nature ! They were
trying to relax the students all the time!
It was a nice experience!!
Interview lasted for around 12–14 mins.

Interview was good could have been better but it went better than RRB PO
interview. I was 3rd in my panel. Entered the room, greeted everyone. There were 3
males and 1 female member. First wished ma'am and then sir. They told me to
take seat.
First The head who was sitting in between asked me about myself.
Then he asked about my father.
About my current organisation.

Why banking?
Told the prepared answer because i was expecting it.
Current CTC.
In which bank you have account and what type?

Who is your favourite cricketer and why?
What are functions of ATM?

Used ATM so many times but couldn't recall other than couple of things .
What will you do if you didn't get any cash from ATM?
Told about complaining to bank and ombudsman. Then he did some cross
questions on this topic.
Then it was the time for other Male member to ask.

What is RBI?
What is inflation and deflation?
How RBI controls it?
What are the instruments and their current rates and explain all?
Told but said Wrong CRR rate 🤦‍♂️
What is difference between MSF and Bank Rate?
The he pointed the 3rd Male member to ask questions.

You like sports right? So tell me what sports event happened in Last 2–3 days in
Hyderabad?
Already prepared about this as i was expecting it
Then he did some cross questions on it.
Told everything
Who is the CDS?
My dumb brain couldn't recall this simple answer
Then they all said thankyou and told you can Leave now.

It was a good experience. Hopefully i will get some good marks if they overlook
some
blunders that i made during interview. Now will wait for mains score to know if I
have any chance on 1at April.

My IBPS PO interview was on 14th february 2023 on Chandigarh.Reporting time was

1 p.m. I took permission to enter the interview room. The chairman said yes. I
greeted everyone and they asked me to take the seat. I said thankyou and sat on
the chair.
Now the roller coaster began!!!

Mam- Rhyma, what is the meaning of your name.
Chairman-asked me about the national highway passing through my
hometown- answered.
Member- why do you have a gap between your graduation and masters? I told
him that I was preparing for civil services.
Chairman- asked me about 3 articles from Indian Constitution.What is article
370? Why was it repealed? Who signed Instrument of accession? Who is Vijay
Laxmi pandit? Why is she important for India? What is Panchsheel? Who signed it ?
( Literally there was question from every line I answered, but I answered them all).
Chairman- Who sang ae mere watan ke logo song? To whom that song was
dedicated?
Mam- What is the origin of Ganga? Where it travels and end?
Chairman- origin of Yamuma? Where does it meet Ganga?.I answered all these.
Mam- What is Sunderbans? Why it is important?I answered.Then she asked about
the name of trees there. I said sorry mam.
Chairman- asked me about the formation years of sikkim and goa state and theie
stories. I answered in brief.
Another member- Chief ministers of west Bengal and Up? Their parties? I
answered.
Member- asked me 2 accounting ratios. I could not answer one.
Chairman- What is stock market? Which shares are traded there ? I answered this
also.
Then they asked me to leave.

Literally, I was not prepared for this type of interview for a bank job. It was more of
a general studies interview. No question from banking. No personal questions
asked.
But fortunately I knew maximum answers I kept smiling and answerung their
questions.
Result day- I have got 77 marks in interview and got selected in Indian bank.
Moral- Just believe in yourself and your hard work.

Hello aspirants. So, finally the much awaited IBPS PO interviews are going on all
around India. At few locations, they are over and much of crunch is still going on in
many states.
Coming to my interview experience, I had my interview scheduled on 9th Feb, 2023

at Bank of Baroda regional office Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The slot was 1PM and
panel number was 1. The auditorium was almost housefull when I reached the
location. Earlier got little bit nervous as it was my first experience with IBPS in first
attempt. I also gave RRB PO interview but couldn’t make it to final list. So, this time
I was going with prior experience. But IBPS is different and Nabard is different. So,
overall it was my first experience for IBPS.
I reached the location at 1.15 PM and got a chance to enter interview room at 5.45
PM. The interviews were running slow in afternoon and that affected the later
candidates who got just 5 to 7 minutes to express themselves in front of panel
members.
Now coming to my interview time, I was controlling my nervousness continously

and pretending to be normal. Till opening the interview room door, I was trying to
remember GOOG EVENING. But by god’s plan, within 10 seconds of reaching the
room inside, after being allowed to enter in the room, I wished GOOD MORNING sir.
So, it was a bluffy mistake. But I made myself survived at the moment and
recovered the moment by gentle smile. They too got engaged in smile and wished
GOOD MORNING. So, now it was a time for a first question and as I was prepared, I
got no chance to introduce me. LOL ! (I got a chill pill here because I wanted to
skip it too).

So, after coming outside, the candidates informed me about my interview
duration as nearly 15 minutes which is good in such type of rush. But I am still
neutral about the performance as my prior experience of RRB PO says. That
message from weird smile will be revealed on April 1, 2023. Till then, we as an
aspirant have to stay focused on SBI PO interviews.

Time: 01:00pm
Venue:punjab national Bank , sector 17 Chandigarh
I reached the venue around 12:30pm and there were already so many people
waiting outside. Around 1pm they called us in, checked our temperatures, verified
our call letters, and directed us towards the auditorium.
The candidates were all very excited and were discussing about that day’s news.
We went to the auditorium, which was quite big, we were made to sit alternatively
leaving one seat between each of the candidates(social distancing).
Then they started Document Verification(DV) and biometrics around 1:25pm. Then
one of the officers came in the hall and took the podium to wish us good luck. “You
all are the best people who have cleared mains with your hard work, so don’t be
worried, and do your best. Wish you all the best.” he said. That calmed me down (I
was freaking out before that, because it was my first time giving an interview like
this).
They finally took our attendance, and started calling us one by one for DV, each for
2 panels. Meanwhile, we were also offered pleasantries like tea, coffee, and
biscuits.
People who were done for both DV and biometrics were called for Interview on the

same floor turn by turn in group of 4 near the room
My turn came around 2:30pm, and me, with other 3 candidates, were instructed to
go for interview round. They asked us to keep our bags, files, phones, etc. at the
counter(nothing was allowed inside). They instructed us, that when the bell rings,
you have to go in. I was noting the time they were taking with each candidate, the
two candidates were inside 7–8 minutes and 10 minutes respectively.
Then the bell rang. It was my turn.
I knocked the door, and went in. There were 4 male members and 1 female
member. We will refer to them as F1,M1, M2, M3 and M4. M1 seemed like the head of
the panel.
“May I come in sir?”
M1: (Smiling) Yes, please come in.
I wished them all a good afternoon.
They all smiled back.
M1: Good afternoon. Please have a seat. .
M1: So tell us about yourself. Please include your family background. They asked
me in hindi itself
I was well prepared for this, so I told them about myself, my graduation, my family
background
then M2 asked me about my graduation course and asked few technical ques
about that.. Since i was recently graduated ..i was able to answer them.
Then he pass it to other M3 and he asked me do u read current affairs..I replied yes
sir .. then he asked me about two hot news.. i replied with ukraine russia crises and
hijab controversy… then he asked me to explain what is ukraine russia crises.. i
explained the whole from starting.. then he asked me about bombay stock
exchange scam which was recently happened at that time.. I was not able to
recall it at that time so i said sorry sir, i was not able to recollect it.. Then he passed
it to M1 again .and he asked me about my strengths and i answered them and
then he asked how my strengths will help me in bank po job and i gave them
answer by quoting some of my college examples.. then he passed it to F1 and she
asked me what are different types of bank and i answereed public sector and
private sector bank .. then she asked me the difference between them and i was

able to answer it and then she asked me name more different types of bank and i
answered payments bank and small finance bank . then she asked me how bank
loan process help the Indian economy. At that time i was not able to formulate the
answer so i better said sorry..
They all looked at each other and smiled at me, and said okk Anmol its over when
I got up and started to leave.
I thanked them, and wished them a good day ahead. Then M2 said me very good
( person who asked about my graduation knowledge) I closed the door quietly on
my way out. And noted the time difference. My interview ran for around 10–
12minutes
Let me tell you, they were smiling at me and made me very comfortable during
the whole interview. It was nothing like some people had told me, they were not at
all rude, and when I got stuck somewhere, they tried to give me hints and helped
me out. It felt as if I were talking to my elders.
Overall a good experience. I learnt a lot.
I was really freaked out during the week before the interview, and I read about all
the banking terminologies over a hundred times, and I closely followed the current
affairs by reading newspapers too, but all they asked was basic banking and
some subjective situational questions. So it's really a test of your personality
rather than your knowledge.
So, if you have an Interview lined up, please remember a few things:
They are taking this interview to select you, not reject you.
They’re not checking your knowledge, but your personality. Knowledge they have
checked already in mains and prelims. What matters now is how well you present
yourself.
Be confident and don’t bluff. If you don’t know the answer, accept it and say sorry.
Don’t smile if you don’t know the answer and don’t beat around the bush.
Prepare some basic questions and prepare a good introduction, so that they can
ask questions from that, if its boring or common, they might just skip to the
banking part.
Keep yourself hydrated before the interview, and go in with confidence.
Remember those 15 minutes can change your life.
Lastly, remember, if I (who just started preparing for bank exams a few months
ago) can do it, you can do it too!

questions related to banking like upi, mpc, neft and rtgs. They asked me about UPI
uses and some imps questions. They asked me about Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji
and some questions from current news.
overall it was a good experience. I’m hoping to clear the ibps po examination. Let’s

Me- My name is Vansh Bhatia. I am from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh. My father is a
businessman and my mother is a teacher. I have done my graduation BBA from
TMU Moradabad in 2017. Since then I am preparing for banking exams. In 2019 I
started freelancing for various edtech companies and recently in November I
joined Physics Wallah as Subject Matter Expert.
M1- Yeh apka kaunsa attempt hai.

2017 mei Main pre qualify nahi kar paya & 2018 mei maine mains qualify kiya tha.
Chairman- Itna gap kyu hai apke is attempt mei.

kaafi impact pada meri personal health pe and uske baad maine 2022 se
preparation restart ki.

friendly nahi hai. YONO ka server bhi kyi baar down rehta hai and marine kbhi bhi
ye issue ICICI mei face nahi kiya.

M3- Physicswallah aur online education companies ke baare mei bataiye?
Me- Online education mei kaafi companies like Physicswallah, byjus, unacademy
operate kar rahe hn but byjus aur unacademy kaafi amount apna burn kar rahe.
Physicswallah is the only profitable company. Jiska revenue aur profits dono har
year multifold grow kar rahe.
M2- Kya banks bhi profits mei hai?
Me- Yes, banks ne kaafi achi recovery ki hai last 2 years mei and ab kaafi saare
public sector banks profitable hai aur quarter to quarter acha profit grow kar rahe
hn.
M4- But banks utna profits ni bna rahe jo 1 lakh employees waali companies ko
banana chahiey. Kuch banks ka profit to chote mote businesses see bhi km hai
Me- But banks ka only motive profit banana nahi hai. Social motive hai rural areas
mei bhi branches chalani hoti hai. Common man ko banking ke benefits dene hn
jan dhan accounts kholne hn. Aur rural areas mei utne loans aur advances
disburse nahi kiye jaate jisse banks major profit kamate hn.
M2- Online education ke faayde btaiye.
Me- Students apne comfort zone mei apne ghar pe apne timings ke anusaar
padh sakte hn.
Isse time save hota hai apki cost bachti hai and offline coaching expensive hai as
compared to online.

Me- Started explaining difference between offline and online education (M3

Me- Classroom mei basically teachers schools mei padhate hn and coaching mei
wahi teachers school ke bahar. Favouritism chalta hai as teacher extra income
chahta hai. As per my experience, schools mei teachers prescribed book jaise
NCERT see padhata hai and coaching mei thoda extra books see. But dono jgh hi
rot learning ya ratwa raha hai. Schools ya coachings mei education ni mil rahi.
M3- Education nahi mil rahi. Yahi sunna chah raha tha (with smile).
F- Balance sheet aur profit & loss statement btaiye
Me- Balance Sheet mei assets & liabilities aati hai & Profit & Loss Statement mei
revenue and expenditures.
F- Stock market mei interest hai apka?
Me- Yes
F- Tell me difference between Fundamental Analysis and Technical Analysis
Me- Fundamental Analysis mei company ki earnings and revenue growth dekhi
jaati hai before investment while technical analysis mei charts mei support,
resistance and other factors dekhe jaate hn.

Venue: The Grand JBR hotel, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow
Reporting time: 1 P.M.
Panel: 8th
It was my first attempt. I was half an hour early but document verification was
already started. We were given a form to fill and one by one we were called for
biometric test.
Document verification went smoothly. People there were friendly and ma’am was
laughing on my photograph as it was not matching with my face (short hairs for
interview). Document verification was conducted on first floor. It took around 2
hours. Around 3 P.M. we were asked to go on 2nd floor and wait for our turn.
I was on 14th place. One by one peoples were going inside and after a few minutes
it was standing next to the door my heart beating faster than barry allen at that
moment. The ball rang and I opened the door.
Only one female panelist was visible from the door.
Me: Ma’am may I come in?

Panelist: Yes yes! beta aaeye.
There were total five panelist one female and four males.
Me: Good Afternoon ma’am, Good Afternoon Sir
Panelist: Sit down.
Me: Thankyou sir
Panelist(ma’am): Isse pahle koi exam diya hai?

Me: Yes ma’am IBPS clerk, magar pre me 73 marks the isliye hua nahi.
Panelist(ma’am): To beta aaj apne kya kya padha?
Me: Ma’am pressure na build ho isliye aaj to kuch nahi padha sirf newspaper
padha hai.

interview was smooth and It was more like a conversation. I was relieved, my
panel members too sweet. When I came out one of the girl was next, I told her stay
calm and have a happy face because our panel members are good.

(Answer is going to be long, so please bear with me. I promise you won’t regret
reading this)
So, I dressed up and left my house at 11:00 sharp so that I am on time, since it was
my very first IBPS PO Interview, I was a little nervous and excited as well. Besides
being nervous, I told my mind to treat it as a festival that can land me into a job …
I reached the venue at around 12 o’clock and to my surprise candidates were

already present there (I thought I was the only early bird XD). I straight away went
to the hall, and started arranging my documents for the Document Verification
process. Ma’am, who was conducting the DV process was calling candidates
according to their name in the list and mine was the last on the list :| So I was the
last candidate to get my documents verified… DV Ma’am was surprised to see that
I completed Graduation in July’21 and was sitting for Interview on Feb’22 in my
very first attempt. She said in surprise, “Arre pehle attempt mein hi yahan tak aa

gayi, acche se dena interview ab, first attempt mein select hoke dikhaana.”
(Translation:- “Wow, you reached interview stage in the first attempt itself, give
your best in the interview and you have to get selected in this attempt itself.”)
Now I was waiting for my turn to arrive for the Interview. Finally after long wait, I
was told that next will be my turn. My heartbeats rose on hearing this but instead
of panicking, I started taking deep breaths to calm myself down, as interview is all
about confidence and valour to face situations tactfully.
I entered the Interview Room at 05:30 PM. Since I was the last candidate, all the
panel members seemed tired, even I was tired since I was sitting here for the last 5
hours 30 minutes without eating(because I was not feeling like having anything
until I was done with my interview, big day it was….)
After entering, I wished the Chairman first( s/he generally sits in the middle) then

one by one I wished each panel member starting from ma’am then sir sitting
beside him, I was about to wish the other 2 panel members also but sir interrupted
and asked me to take the seat and immediately put up a question…..Hence I did
not wish the other 2 members-
Now coming up to the questions:
Sir 1: Komal, introduce yourself…
Answered. I was well prepared for this one. I kept it short and crisp saying, “Sir, my
name is Komal Dhamija and I have pursued Mathematics Honors which is very
useful for Banking” and I stopped but I sensed from their face that they wanted
more hence I continued saying, “My mother is a housewife, my father has a
general store outside our house itself.” That’s what I told them.
Sir wrote something on the paper he had, and passed the turn to another sir;
meanwhile ma’am was observing my expressions and body language.
Sir 2: Komal, what do you know about Banking like what is the core funda of
Banking?
Answered. I mentioned about loans and advances in the answer so they came to
NPA and my whole interview revolved around it only.
Ques: What do you know about NPA?
Answered.
Ques: When does a loan get doubtful?
Answered.
Ques: When does a loan get substandard? like what is the tenure after which a
loan account gets substandard?
I was unable to recall this hence told them the truth instead of bluffing.
Ques: Full form of SMA?
Initially I was unable to recall but they gave me hint of ‘Special’ and I completed it
saying ‘Special Mention Accounts’.
Ques: What is Diversification of Funds?
Answered.
Ques: (BY MA’AM) What is the need of good communication?
Answered.
Ques: (BY MA’AM AGAIN): Why do people keep long term and short term goals,
why cannot they stick to one goal?
Answered.
Ques: Komal, if a person is unable to pay loan amount for the first month, so what
would you do so that the account does not become NPA, that is if you approach
him early NPA can be avoided, so how will you approach, what steps will you take?
Answered.
Ques: Komal, suppose you are selected as the officer in the branch, then if a
person(who has taken loan) does not pay principal or interest amount, what will
be your way of proceeding.
I said I will write to him/her, call them. To which they said what if the person
doesn't reply, neither picks up the call, ghen will you visit his/her house to enquire?

I immediately said, “YES SIR, I WILL VISIT HIS/HER ADDRESS FOR DETAILS.”
They seemed impressed seeing my confidence in answering this question

although I was unsure of whether an officer visits the house or not. (Yes, he
does!!! Got to know about this after coming home)
Ques: (Posed by the chairman after looking into my college mark sheets) Okay
Komal, what is the use of Differential Equations in Banking and Economics?
Answered.
Ques: (Chairman sir) Komal, you must have read about dy/dx (differentiation) in
mathematics.
I said, “Yes sir.” Then sir asked where do we use them in Economics?
Answered.
.
That was it, my interview was very short, for around 7–8 minutes, The panel
members were not only allowing me to complete my answers, they were
interrupting and saying that, “Haan bhayi itna bahut hai“ (Translation:- “This
much is fine”) . Maybe they were very tired and just wanted to get over with
interviewing for the day.
I was worried till the D-day that is till 1st April, but but but-
I scored fair 80/100. I was very happy seeing my marks. For IBPS, I had heard that
they just give average marks to people hence I was a little worried about my
marks from the day of interview itself.

This was my first attempt for IBPS PO and smoothly sailed the two rounds i.e pre nd
mains.
Then comes the “sell yourself round"( साक्षात्कार)| It was my 3rd interview
back2back in last 3 months after RRB PO and SBI PO so had an in-hand experience
to sail it.
Venue: Hotel republic , Gandhi maidan (Patna)

Time: 8:30 and panel 3
The day started very well as without any traffic reached the place on time. The
coordinating bank was UBI(Union Bank) . All the follow up process was on 5th floor
in a large hall
It was full of people from different backgrounds and streams sitting and waiting
up for iris and biometrics followed by document verification.
Here my first mistake : I skipped my breakfast as I thought they will provide it there
but wait no one even cared to serve tea or coffee atleast ( obviously I had a stint
at sbi and thought it would be same but in vain.)

My turn came up at 11:30 for biometrics and d.v ,got it done and moved to
interview corridor
I was made to sit along with two other female candidates and what a coincidence
we were also present at RRB then SBI even shift and panel was also same 😃
anyway entered the room :
Greeted all the 4 male and 1 lady at rightmost corner
M1(chairman) :-Introduce yourself to the board including your hobbies and
strength?
I answered the memorized intro template which I practiced already ‘ n' no of
times.
M1: what genre of novels do you read ? ( Asked this as I mentioned in my hobby)
Told sir, I love to read pshycological as well as science fictions and
autobiographies of emminent persons.
M1: what was the recent one ?
Sir , it was Man's search for meaning and Malcom gladwells “outliers “ as well as
“The tipping point”
M1: tell us something about the stories and plot ?
Told as these were my all time favourite ones..
M1: gone through budget ? Tell some highlights
Told.
M1:what is depression?
I was confused whether he was asking pshycology wla depression or else. But he
added in terms of banking and finance.
Replied sorry sir I have never heard of that term but I have read about
“Depreciation” … (This a pro tip if you don't know few answers but qstn resembles
to something close which you know well, then without any 2nd thought speak it
out . What if it hits the interviewer and he ask further more follow ups)..
In my case it worked. He asked further reasons of Indian currency depreciation?
I knew the exact answer about U.S Fed reserves hawkish money policy but tried to
play smart here and turn the interview under my control 😬😁
Added some terms like current account deficit is all time on high but capital
account surplus not enough .. indirectly trying to compel him to start rapid fire
😋

M4: (Now was the most funniest Part of the whole interview)
Sir, was wearing a skull cap and i recognised him as he was in my panel in earlier
RRB interview) ..
First he just went through my portfolio , hurling pages here and there then asked
engineering kri hai..kisme
Me: sir electrical engineering mey..
M4: looked here and there upside and asked wo kya hai ..
Me: sir fan hai ..pankha hai
M4: kya hota hai issey .kaise chlta hai.
Yar , kuch to izzat kr dete ..( jokes apart)
I said sir, isme single- phase induction motor lga hota hai aur ye mechanical
energy mey convert krta h electrical energy ko..
M4: wo dkh rhey ho, tubelight . Kaise jalta hai?
Then further haphazard qstns like A.c and D.c ? What is used in home? What is
fuse? Khatam tata bye
M5: he didn't asked any questions but right from my entry to exit he nodded his
head in my every answers .Very supportive person he was although everyone
including chairman sir was jolly except 😁 ( hope u got) .
sir offered a toffee and i tooked it greeted them all unanimously and left …
I didn't recorded my duration of interview but other bhaiyas sitting outside told me
you took very long .lgta hai kafi pasnd aa gye tussi unko. 😄
Overall , it was good ,it was pretty good . Verdict will be on 1st apriL:) let's see what
is in there in the bucket for me

My interview was scheduled for the afternoon shift at 1 PM. There were 25
candidates in my panel and my number was last.
Initially, I was worried about being the last candidate and pre-assumed I won't get
enough time to justify myself. My assumptions were right and my interview lasted
for only 6 minutes.
I was not satisfied after my interview but my mother consoles me by saying 6
minutes are enough to justify yourself and stay positive about your result.
▶Here comes the interview questions-

1. Basic introduction
2. Environmental effects (flora and fauna) due to Russia Ukraine war ( I have done
masters in the environment)

3. Chernobyl accident (date, reason and number of deaths)
4. What is a Carbon credit? ( only question I was unable to answer and without
any hesitation, I said NO)
5. What is SEBI and its functions?
6. Mudra scheme- There was a counter-question regarding this scheme and I
wasn't sure about it and ask their permission to take a wild guess but I was
completely wrong and immediately said sorry without losing my confidence.
7. What is the standup India scheme ( I did a blunder while answering this
question and said it came during the corona time and the chairman immediately
questioned me and asked me to google the exact date after the interview. I
immediately accepted my mistake and politely said yes to him)
8. Last question- Tell the last 3 months top news regarding banking or financial
related. I was able to recall only four main news with a brief summary. Then they
asked me to leave and I said thank you to all with a smile on my face and came
out.
1st April- Result day
I wasn't confident about my selection because I only secured 7 marks above the
cutoff and thought my interview went average. But I was surprised to know I
🤩
scored 80 marks in the interview and got selected as a probationary officer in
the Indian Overseas Bank from the general category.
(I am not satisfied yet and will continue to prepare for the regulatory body
examinations)
▶ Key points-
1. No barrier of language. Just be confident while answering any questions. I used
both English and Hindi
2. Don't bluff while answering. They will always admire your honesty.
3. Avoid giving crammed answers especially when they asked for any definition.
4. Don't get worried if they look unsatisfied.

I reached the venue around 12:30pm and there were already so many people
waiting outside. Around 1pm they called us in, checked our temperatures, verified
our call letters, and directed us towards the auditorium.
The candidates were all very excited and were discussing about that day’s news.
We went to the auditorium, which was quite big, we were made to sit alternatively
leaving one seat between each of the candidates(social distancing).

Then they started Document Verification(DV) and biometrics around 1:25pm. Then
one of the officers came in the hall and took the podium to wish us good luck. “You
all are the best people who have cleared mains with your hard work, so don’t be
worried, and do your best. Wish you all the best.” he said. That calmed me down (I
was freaking out before that, because it was my first time giving an interview like
this).
They finally took our attendance, and started calling us one by one for DV, each for
2 panels. Meanwhile, we were also offered pleasantries like tea, coffee, and
biscuits.
People who were done for both DV and biometrics were called for Interview on the
same floor turn by turn in group of 4 near the room
My turn came around 2:30pm, and me, with other 3 candidates, were instructed to
go for interview round. They asked us to keep our bags, files, phones, etc. at the
counter(nothing was allowed inside). They instructed us, that when the bell rings,
you have to go in. I was noting the time they were taking with each candidate, the
two candidates were inside 7–8 minutes and 10 minutes respectively.
Then the bell rang. It was my turn.

I knocked the door, and went in. There were 4 male members and 1 female
member. We will refer to them as F1,M1, M2, M3 and M4. M1 seemed like the head of
the panel.
“May I come in sir?”

M1: (Smiling) Yes, please come in.
I wished them all a good afternoon.
They all smiled back.
M1: Good afternoon. Please have a seat. .
M1: So tell us about yourself. Please include your family background. They asked
me in hindi itself
I was well prepared for this, so I told them about myself, my graduation, my family
background
then M2 asked me about my graduation course and asked few technical ques
about that.. Since i was recently graduated ..i was able to answer them.
Then he pass it to other M3 and he asked me do u read current affairs..I replied yes
sir .. then he asked me about two hot news.. i replied with ukraine russia crises and
hijab controversy… then he asked me to explain what is ukraine russia crises.. i
explained the whole from starting.. then he asked me about bombay stock
exchange scam which was recently happened at that time.. I was not able to
recall it at that time so i said sorry sir, i was not able to recollect it.. Then he passed
it to M1 again .and he asked me about my strengths and i answered them and
then he asked how my strengths will help me in bank po job and i gave them
answer by quoting some of my college examples.. then he passed it to F1 and she
asked me what are different types of bank and i answereed public sector and

private sector bank .. then she asked me the difference between them and i was
able to answer it and then she asked me name more different types of bank and i
answered payments bank and small finance bank . then she asked me how bank
loan process help the Indian economy. At that time i was not able to formulate the
answer so i better said sorry..
They all looked at each other and smiled at me, and said okk Anmol its over when
I got up and started to leave.
I thanked them, and wished them a good day ahead. Then M2 said me very good
( person who asked about my graduation knowledge) I closed the door quietly on
my way out. And noted the time difference. My interview ran for around 10–
12minutes
Let me tell you, they were smiling at me and made me very comfortable during
the whole interview. It was nothing like some people had told me, they were not at
all rude, and when I got stuck somewhere, they tried to give me hints and helped
me out. It felt as if I were talking to my elders.
Overall a good experience. I learnt a lot.
I was really freaked out during the week before the interview, and I read about all
the banking terminologies over a hundred times, and I closely followed the current
affairs by reading newspapers too, but all they asked was basic banking and
some subjective situational questions. So it's really a test of your personality
rather than your knowledge.
So, if you have an Interview lined up, please remember a few things:
They are taking this interview to select you, not reject you.
They’re not checking your knowledge, but your personality. Knowledge they
have checked already in mains and prelims. What matters now is how well you
present yourself.
Be confident and don’t bluff. If you don’t know the answer, accept it and say
sorry. Don’t smile if you don’t know the answer and don’t beat around the bush.
Prepare some basic questions and prepare a good introduction, so that they
can ask questions from that, if its boring or common, they might just skip to the
banking part.
Keep yourself hydrated before the interview, and go in with confidence.
Remember those 15 minutes can change your life.
Lastly, remember, if I (who just started preparing for bank exams a few months
ago) can do it, you can do it too!

M2: He asked in between that can you differentiate the dough of chapatis and
pooris?
Answer:(I think it gone very random, as I have never expected this kind of question
in a interview) still I replied and it caused some light moments and it made them
laugh, I also smiled gently.

so I reached the venue at 7:30. All the candidates were given a form to fill the list of
documents which needed to be submit like graduation marksheet (semester
wise), provisional degree/ final degree, online application form, SSC marksheet for
Date of birth proof, Aadhar/PAN for identity proof. It is advised to keep all the
original and photocopies ready for smooth verification.
All the candidates were now seated and asked for biometric verification one by
one. After that, document verification started. The people working there were very
helpful during this and my document verification was completed without any
problem. After that we were told to sit near our respective panels (mine was panel

I completed my graduation in 2018 & as this was my first attempt, my nervousness
reached its peak. But hopefully got to manage it soon.
I reached the venue at 11:35, and quickly approached towards verification &
biometrics. The staff was very helpful but didn't compromise with any of the
documents. Soon biometric was done and I was allotted No. 2 & asked to wait till
further orders. At 1:15 three of us were called upstairs and asked to sit in the

Reporting time was 1 PM and I reached 30 mins early. All candidates reached on
time and then the checklist was given and we proceeded for document
verification. There was problem in biometric verification for 3 people including me
and hence we were told to wait and our interview got over at the last with me
being 2nd last to be interviewed for the day.

"Slowly opened the door and asked for entry. Then greeted all the male panels and
for madam separately".
Starting from my right side M1 asked me to introduce myself. I was about to start,
but M2 (senior most in panel) interrupt before I could speak and asked the
meaning of my name. I told them. Then they asked me about why I am not
working at ISRO. I had mentioned about my project work there for about 2 years. I
told them about the eligibility criteria for giving exam 70% . I had 68.7%.
Then they switched over to asking about my work at Bank of Maharashtra as I

have been working there as a cashier for about 4 months. First question I was
asked that what was the yesterday's news for my bank.

I thought that they might have seen some other news which I hadn't seen as I
didn't get time to see because yesterday I left the branch late and immediately
had to take bus to interview city which is 8 hrs away.
So, I told them that sir yesterday's work was very much tiresome as 25 new
accounts were opened and had to punch ATM cards for all same day as per
instructions from higher authorities. Work was more as Manager sir was on leave
yesterday. Then madam asked at what time I left Branch then. I told her that it got
7 PM.
Then they asked that didn't I see anything about NPA. Actually it skipped my mind
at that time. Then I mentioned about 2 other banks being removed from NPA too.
Then they asked about the branch and how much business it's doing. It told I don't
know even approx as I am yet to see it. Since I am single clerk there, not much
time I get to see other stuffs and it's been only 4 months approx of working here.
Now they asked me about my extra achievements. I had submitted some

certificates of participation at national and international events for Sudoku
competitions and there was one winner certificate too among them. This went on
for about 4 minutes.
And after that they told thank you for coming and wished me all the best. I greeted
them all and then left the interview room.
After interview 4 employees there at Central Bank (it was that bank for venue)
came to me with one of them being the guy who check my documents before
interview. All asked me about how the interview went. They asked me about
Sudoku and it's scope. How it's solved. This went on for another 5-6 minutes. It
became another interview after interview. And all 4 shook hands with me and
wished me good luck for success and then i left the interview centre.

I am Santosh and I belong to Vizag. I completed my B. Tech in Chemical
Engineering in 2015 and got placed in a reputed core company where I worked for

2 years. After calling it quits, I started preparing for bank exams. Within a month I
was able to grasp the exposure required to face bank exams by watching daily
videos and attempting mock tests. I kept on improving gradually clearing prelims
and then mains. Finally, the Interview phase has approached. This was my first
interview. Let me share the same in detail.
Suggestion: Be prepared technically as well as mentally and have some good

food before appearing for interview.
I reached the venue at 08:00 AM and had couple of bananas as I didn't have
enough time for breakfast. Security personnel checked our call letters, took our
Signatures and Thumb Prints on attendance sheets. Later we were told to go to 7th
Floor for Biometric & Document Verification. I was the 21st candidate in my panel
(I) which comprised 24 others. The time was 9:00 am. The document verification
official was very keen in verifying each detail on our documents and rejected a
female candidate due to some error in her DOB. My Biometric & Document
Verification was finished by 11:30 AM and was asked to go to 6th Floor for Interview.
After waiting for 2 long hours, it was my turn. My Interview started at 1:30 pm which
lasted for only 5 Minutes.

Max Interview was taken by M1 (Head Panelist), M2 and a lady F1, others were just
observing.
"Wished Everyone Good Morning"
Started with Introduce yourself then Whats your job at your branch (As I said I am
currently working As a clerk in Bank of India). There were few Yes\No type
questions at first like:
· Can we open TD Jointly?
· Can we issue ATM/ Cheque book to minors etc?
· How much I will be charged if I don’t pay my credit card dues?
· Do you have Credit card?
· Have you read today's newspaper?

M1: What is Nomination?
ME: It is facility given to depositor that they can nominate any person as a
nominee to whom deposit can be given after death of depositor, It comes under
section 45ZA of Banking Regulation Act, banks get valid discharge by transferring
that amount.
M1: As you said, Banks get valid discharge by transferring that amount, is nominee
owner of that money?
ME: No Sir, He is just caretaker of that money , Legally bound to transfer it to legal
heirs.
M1: (corrected me) He is not caretaker, He is “trusty” of that money.
F1: Can we nominate more than one person for single account?
M1: What is MCLR?

ME: MCLR stands for Marginal cost of fund based lending Rate, bascially there are
2 factors which determines it, 92%-Marginal cost of fund i.e. At what cost bank got
that money and 8% comprises of 3 factors again and those are Operating cost,
Cost to carry CRR, Tenor premium.
(There was one cross question over it , which I couldn’t answer)
M1: There is one term called Confidentiality in banks , so in what circumstances

banks can share Information about customer?
ME: When Customer is willing to do so or when Police authority asked for it.
M1: See, There is CBS in all branches , So, Any staff sitting at any branch can see
Transaction done by any customer anywhere So, Isn’t this breach of that
confidentiality
ME: I got bit confused, Just ended saying Sir, its just there should not be Any
misuse of the information, But He was not satisfied with my answer
M2: What is Consortium and Syndication?

ME: These are the terms used when Multiple banks Finance to single borrower But
when it involves different currency and International transactions , its called
Syndication.
M1: What is EMI?

ME: Sir, Its Equated Monthly Installment.
M1: How to calculate it?

ME: There is formula for that, (As I couldn’t get what he was asking exactly), so
ended saying I just read about it in Accounting paper in JAIIB.
M1: (Very Curiously) So Are You preparing for JAIIB?

ME: Sir, I’ve already cleared it ( Lady panelist interrupted saying Sir, She has
already completed 1.5 years of service in her bank) So, M1 said then, You can
become officer in your own bank. Then I said Sir, I’ll be eligible for it next year that
too depends upon the vacancy.
M2: When Bank deduct TDS on FD?

ME: When Interest Income exceeds , earlier it was 10,000 now its Rs.40,000
M2: At What Rate?
ME: @10%
M2: What is dormant account and freeze account?
ME: Answered.
M1: Your Bank came out of PCA Last week, How?

ME: Sir, Bank performed well On all parameters Except on Negative ROA, Net NPA of
our bank is reduced and CRAR is improved , our bank has given commitment to
RBI That it’ll comply with PCA Norms and Also GoI has given assurance that
Capital requirement of this will be taken into consideration. (Here, M-1 Asked exact
Net NPA %)
Then there were 3 questions on my academics.
M2: What is Lattice theory, what is discrete Mathematics and what is fuzzy
Mathematics.
ME: Answered first two shortly and then explained fuzzy mathematics as- Fuzzy
Mathematics is branch of Mathematics which deals with study of Fuzzy set theory
and Fuzzy logic, A fuzzy subset A of X is a function A:X tends to L in the interval ….(
No Cross Question over it)
M1: Was just waiting me to finish my answer, He said Well, You decided to work in
bank only?
ME: Yes Sir.
M1: So, Who is Your Role Model?
ME: Honestly, I wasn’t prepared for it. Answered like – Sir, First of all, My parents,
then Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is my role model. He is symbol of excellence and
One should always try to be Shivaji of his field. This is what I feel.
M1: Aur bolo, Anyone from Banking Industry?

ME: Not role model, But Yes , I do follow Mr Raghuram Rajan and Mr. Urjit Patel, I
read all about them.
M1: Not Shaktikanta Das? And they all started laughing.

M1: Thank you! All the Best And good day.
It lasted for 20-25 minutes.There were few Personal questions too like Fathers
occupation, my place of posting , and about my current branch.

M3: 3 saal kya kiya aapne job resign krne k bad? Kon kon se exam diye kya result

My number was 14th and then after successful biometric it was time for DV. They
only asked me 10th marksheet, consolidated marksheet, degree certificate and
aadhar card. Finally my number came at 11:30 AM.

ME: Introduced about myself with name, educational qualification(mechanical
engineering 2016 passed out), parents occupation, siblings and hobbies.
F1: How will your graduation help in banking. Why are you shifting your sector?
ME: I told about helping in vehicle loans. Explained well.
F1: Don't you think engineers grabbing seats of commerce student in banking
sector?(all panel members laughing)
ME: Told about analytical skills. Explained well. She seemed to be satisfied.
F2: What criteria will you see when you give a vehicle loan?
ME: Told about CIBIL score, annual income of customer.
F2: What is CIBIL AND CRISIL?

ME: Told them in detail. She was impressed.
F2: What other can Mechanical Engineering help other than vehicle loan?

ME: (Strucked) then said Farmers tractor, pump motors for Farmers. Maam was
like ok beta bas.
M1: Tell me about SEBI.

ME: Explained it and told about share IPO FPO.
M1: What is primary and secondary market?

ME: Told. He seemed to be satisfied.
M2: What have you been doing since your graduation?

ME: Told about getting job in IT which I was not interested and told about
government job preparation.
M2: What is difference between overdraft and demand draft?

ME: Explained well. All were satisfied.
M3: What is AML?

ME: Got confused between AML and ALM. coud'nt recall. Said sorry.
M3: No problem. Who issues aadhar card?

ME: UIDAI.
M3: What is that?

ME: Explained that but did'nt recall full form.
M1: So what is latest technology adopted in Railway? (as father was in railways)
ME: Explained about train 18. Complete details. M1 seemed to be most interested
about it. Asked further more questions about it. Answered it very well.
M1: Very good. Shubham all the best.

ME: Thanked everyone and exited the room with smiling face at 11:40 AM.

I’m Ritik Ranjan. I would like to share my interview experience with you all. Hope it
will help someone to face IBPS PO Interview without any difficulty. My interview was
scheduled on 04th Feb 2019 at HOTEL ASTOR Patna. My Reporting time was at 1:00
PM. There are 70-80 candidates waited with me. At first, they verified my
document and I waited for my turn. They called me around 5:30 PM. I appeared on
the 3rd Panel and there are 5 members in my Interview panel. The Interview took
8-10 Minutes. In the Interview panel, there are 4 Male and 1 Female.
I knocked on the door and I asked: “May I come in?”

I heard the voice of “Yes Come in.” I went inside and I wished them.
They said, ” Please be Seated”. And I replied Thank You.
Further, they asked me the following questions
M1: Yes, Ritik tell us something about yourself and family background?
Me: I told about my family background
M2: Tell Five points anything about the budget?
Me: I told the highlighted points that I remember during that time.
M4: What is meant by Priority sector lending and what are the sectors comes
under this?
Me: I told and explained.

Me: I told some points that what I know.
M5: What is meant by limited liability companies?
Me: I told
M2: Who is Bihar Cm / and Jharkhand governor?
Me: I told confidently
M3: What is the use of Atal Pension Yojana?
Me: I explained
M2: what is Jeevan Jyoti Bhima Yojana?
Me: I answered
M5: Tell some important news in Kolkata in the last 2 days?
Me: I told that what I remember in my mind.

Finally, They asked some personal questions and I replied. And they said the
Interview is over, You Can leave now. I Said “Thank You” and I left the Room.

I have reached the venue before time. Then document verification started. The
staffs were very co operative even at the time of document verification they were

Sir3: You are an ex employee of TCS. Tell me which is more reputed between UCO
Bank and TCS.
Me : Both are reputed in their respective field. Since their field of operation is
different, it is critical to answer on my part.
(Then They Laughed)
Mam: Tell me different types of errors in Accounts? (as I am from commerce)

Mam: Ok then how these errors are treated while preparing books of accounts?
Me: Answered.
Chairman: Beta what is your feedback regarding this interview?

Me: It’s a nice interview and you people are all co operative.

Overall the interview was around 10mins.

Overall the panel was very friendly. They were just asking basic banking
awareness question be clear with your basics.

gone through that right? Did you chose banking because you didn't have any
option?
Me: No sir. I had an affiliation towards banking in my final year. I was incharge of
funds in my dept symposium which shifted my interest strongly towards banking.
M4: Thats good.

Me: Yes maam. Hindu.
F1: So any recent happenings mentioned about ABC in the paper.
Me: Yes maam. Our governor visited our city's solid waste management system.

I have been waiting for the moment after they released the mains result..I have
been preparing for interview attend mock and got 70%…read about banking
related topics asked in previous interview…simultaneously I was also preparing for
IBPS Po mains…

day..went to the interview location and resided nearby hotel…on 21/11/2022…woke
up at 5:00 again thought to sleep for some time…because my reporting time was

sharp 8:30am..as we entered they took our mobile phones…and went to the

F1, M1: Full time!! ( they seem shocked, I don’t know why. I think my answer giving
style doesn’t seem like a full-time preparation )

Overall I felt like I did good but I could have done better. They are very friendly and
cool. I felt like m2 is not satisfied. M1 is an old one in the room and he is head of the
panel. F1 is old but writing a lot of whole the interview, I don’t know what she is
writing. M4 seems very much satisfied with my answers. he’s smiled and nodded
several times. The person who went before me told me that they are scored
everyone between 57 and 65. I read a lot of previous interviews, which helped me
a lot. so it’s time to give one back. Whether I clear or not it doesn’t matter, I am
happy I got some interview experience to do much better in the future.

and what does this word mean? I told them and they looked satisfied.

ME – I told them that I did a job in my core engineering sector and from past 1
year, I am preparing for banking.
M2 – So how much banking have you prepared ?

ME – “I have studied the basics sir”.
M2 – Ok then tell me the proper Indian banking structure.

ME – I explained.

They said ok and looked satisfied and wished me good luck. They also gave me a
chocolate. I think they were giving chocolate to every aspirant after the
completion of interview.
Female in the panel didn’t ask any question and my whole interview lasted for

I arrived at the SBI head office for the interview at 6:55 am. I was given an entry
card and asked to go to the 8th floor of the building for document verification. I
was kept in the waiting area, which was a common holding area for both Panel 1
and Panel 2. After waiting for 5 minutes, I was instructed to go to another room for
document verification. My document verification was completed quickly, in fact, it
was the first to be completed. After the document verification, KYC (Aadhar
verification) and biometric verification were done. After the process was
completed, I was asked to wait in the same waiting room. Meanwhile, breakfast
and drinks were served. A marketing manager was present in the waiting room
and asked for a brief introduction from everyone who was waiting in the room.
After the document verification was completed, Panel 1 and Panel 2 were
separated and taken to the seventh floor for further rounds (group discussion,

group exercise, and personal interview).
We waited in a mini conference hall for 15 minutes. There were 12 candidates in

each panel. I came to know that 2 candidates were absent. We were chatting
among each other, and each one told us that they had cleared the IBPS PO 2023,
whose result was on 1 April 2023, including me, and we shared the banks in which
we got selected.
After 15 minutes, we were taken to a large conference hall where two members
were already there to conduct and head our group discussion. We were seated
according to our serial numbers, and the first member gave their introduction and
then asked us to share ours. After the introductions, the members conducted a
group discussion on the topic "Role of AI and Machine Learning in Jobs". We were
given around 10 minutes to share our ideas. Before the discussion, we were asked
to think and write on a notebook, and a pen was given if we wanted one. 5
minutes were given for this purpose. After the completion of the group discussion,
a group exercise was conducted in which we were given the task to sort priorities
in completing the projects/tasks given in the workplace. We were given 10 minutes
for individual sorting, and after individual sorting, we had to discuss among each
other which task should come first. This group consensus-building exercise was
around 10 minutes long. Both individual-level and group consensus sorting were
noted down on paper given by the members.
After the completion of the group exercise and group discussion, we were asked to
go back to the mini conference room to wait for the start of the interview.
Interview: After waiting for around 20 minutes, four candidates were taken to the
waiting area of the interview room. After 10 minutes, the interview started. There
were three male and one female members in the interview panel, including Mr.
Shiva Om Dixit, CGM SBI Patna. The interview lasted around 10 minutes, with each
one asking questions from banking, my basic profile introduction, and general
awareness. The lady member did not ask me anything. This was my experience of
the interview day in Patna.

members and this is what I found different in SBI PO interview than IBPS and RRB
interview as they have 5 panel members. The seating position is also different in
SBI interview, the head of the panel sits in front facing you other member beside
him at a gap of 2 hands and the rest 2 on your either side. This way they can check
your body language from all sides. I am going to write the questions that were
asked to me below.
In my panel there were 3 male and 1 female members. So I will refer them as M1-

(Head of the panel), M2, M3 and F(female).
I knocked the gate before entering, opened the gate and asked if I could come in.

I was instructed to report at the venue at 8:00 in the morning and I reached at
around 7:45 a.m.
As I reached, was told to go to the 8th floor, where the document verification was
going on. As I entered, I was welcomed with a Rose by one the person there. Others
received their Roses and were already sitting.
DV was done at 9:30. After that, me along with 11 others had to report in a group to
the other floor. Ma'am took us to the GROUP DISCUSSION(GD) floor.
In an eating area, we were provided with some snacks and water. And then in a
large hall of big round table,we were instructed to take our seats as per our
nameplates.
And then the GD took place among 12 of us. It was a competitive one as every one
was adamant to put his/her points.
Following GD of around 20 minutes GROUP EXERCISE took place. And again it was
competitive one as no one was ready to reach to a group consensus. It went for
around another 20 minutes.
Then we were taken to the INTERVIEW AREA.

I was not too nervous initially, as I already had one job in my hand(IBPS PO).

My turn came around 12:30 p.m.
There were 5 panelist: Chairman (C), three male panelist: M1,M2,M3 and a female
member (F)
Opened the door, wished each one of them good afternoon. And ,I was then told to
take my seat.
C : Okay Ameesha you have done your graduation from Delhi. Are you from Delhi?
Me: No sir, I belong to Varanasi.
C: So, done your schooling as well from Delhi?
Me : Sir, I have completed my school education from Varanasi itself.

C: Okay, okay. So what have you been doing after your grads? Any higher studies?
Me: Sir, along with preparation, I invest my time in freelancing.
C: Where? Earnings? The site you use for payments and all. And the frequency of
your work there?
Me : Told .
C: Discuss about NEW EDUCATION REFORMS.
(I went little blank at that moment as I was not aware about the topic in detail)
Me: Sorry sir , I am unable to recall.
C: Those where 3+3… and all reforms have been introduced.
Me: Sure sir, (And I told him using various points as I recalled immediately)
But , there are credentials through which people can rely on an individual's
answer. And also one can read various answers and frame out common points for
better understanding.
F: Okay .What are Mutual funds?
Me: Told
F: What is NFO
Me: ( never listened it before) Said — I don't know.
F: Difference between IPO and NFO
Me: Told about IPO but again said don't know NFO.
(Ma'am explained me a little bit about NFO)
M1: What are the most important qualities of a PO?
Me: Sir, POs should always be honest, truthful in any circumstances as they have
to ultimately deal with money.
And they should possess the ability to work under pressure. They should have a
good skills in customer dealings.
M1: Okay suppose in the morning at 10 am a huge crowd suddenly comes in the
bank. How will you manage it?
Me: Sir, before doing anything I would request them to stay calm and patient. Then
I will take their issues one by one.
M1: Think more and then answer.
Me: And sir, I would be able to manage specific dealings more nicely once I will be
given training and learnings in this regard.
( May be I didn't give the best answer for this question)
M2: You said painting as your hobby. Who is the painter of MONALISA?
Me: Told .
M2: What kind of painting is it ?
Me: It's a portrait.
M2: What is ONDC

M3: Aapne bola imaandari k bare me. Aapko kya lagta hai hmare yha imaandari
hai?
Me: Sir, hai bhi nahi bhi .( I think I mistook ‘hamare yha' as India and not
particularly SBI. Maybe I was correct. I realised this question when I came out of
the room. )

They said okay we are done, Thanku. As I was half stood M3 said wait, a last
question from you.

M3: Can you tell me what kind of painting is that? You can go nearby and check.
Me: I went near the painting which was hung at the end of the room. I saw and told
them that it is acrylic on paper. And the other half of it, I am not sure .
F: You are right. It is acrylic painting. And the other half is ‘xyz'( I forgot the name
because of nervousness that F told me )
I said thank you and left the room.
Overall, my experience was nice in the SBI LHO. My interview, in my opinion was not
excellent but was fair enough.
Note:
1) I could have done much better. I fumbled a little bit because of the bouncers
(questions) that were thrown at me one by one.
2) I kept my smile throughout the interview and tried to stay calm.
3) Remember to read everything in 360 degree manner about the details which
are in your biodata form. 90% of the questions are from the biodata form.
4) Say clear NO if you dont know the answer instead of fumbling or expressing
nervousness. It literally works.

This was my first interview of the most sought after exam of the banking sector.
Before this I had appeared for the interview of ibps po in 2020 and got 62 marks,
but I could not make it to the final merit list by a margin of few marks.
I also appeared for the interview of ibps rrb po 2021( got 88 marks) as well which
gave me the confidence needed to not get intimidated by the biggest shark of
banking sector i.e. SBI.
My interview was on 12 February, LHO Lucknow
Panel 2, morning shift.
Before interview I was trying to calm myself by talking to my fellow aspirants ( this
trick always works for me). Anyway, we were led to the hall where we had to wait
before our names were to be called. I was the first person that day to be
interviewed.
I entered into the room, 4 persons in their mid fifties were sitting in the sofa.
I greeted them and they told me to sit.
These were the questions that followed.

1. Tell me about yourself.
2. Questions from my hobby tennis— they asked whether I watched the recently
concluded Aus open, who won, what's the final score.

There were certain other questions as well which I don't remember now. Overall it
was a nice experience.
Results were announced on 15 March 2022 and I cleared the exam. Here is the

I was 5th in the Panel, while waiting for my turn I was admiring the Madhbani
Painting on the wall, than budger went off and My number came.
I opened the door slowly and asked May I come in? They said: Please come

ask them May I take off my mask? They said sure sure, ab kab tak corona se darte
rahenge, they laughed :D

M1: So do you know some famous personality having same name as you.
Me: Yes sir, You are talking about Mr. Ravish Kumar, he comes on NDTV.
M1: Are you agree with his views? Is he biased against some particular parties?
Me: Sir, he brings out common social issues. i support the issues in hand. People
can see him according to their political affiliations, for me issues at the hand is
more important, that should be discussed rather than personal biases.
M1 & M2: Good, you are neutral (Both laughing)

M1: Ravish, you are highly qualified, why you wanna join sbi?
Me: Sir, for me job satisfaction is very important. Working in a bank one gets to
serve the common people of India, especially poor people, it gives me immense
satisfaction that I’m doing something for them. Also salaries & Allowances of SBI is
very good, it also help the cause of choosing SBI :p
M2: Did you heard any news today about Privatization? (As I’m currently working in
BOI as a PO)
Me: Yes sir, Government has listed 4 banks for possible privatization. Gave name
of all the banks.
M2: Why BOI is being chosen for privatization?

Me: Sir, BOI is doing very well profit wise, share prices remains on higher side, after
the corona crisis when most of the bank’s NPA have been increased, BOI still able
to do well. So Government want to sell stake in BOI first, to lure investors in buying
stakes in other PSB as well, which are not as much lucarative as BOI.
M2: What’s the new name of Allahabad? (As I studied in NIT Allahabad)
Me: Prayagraj
M2: Asked about a temple in place I work, I told him a famous one, he gave
another name. I said sir I’’m just there for few months, I’m still exploring the place
:D
M2: Which page of newspaper you like to read first, as in your favourite page? (I
gave reading newspaper as my hobbey)
Me: Sir after reading first page, I go straight forward to international sections of
news. I love reading what’s going on in other countries.
M2: Do you know Nicolas Sarkozi?
Me: Sir, he’s former president of France. Recently he got convicted in corruption
case.
M3: What’s your biggest challenge as working in BOI?
Me: Sir, it’s an old branch, with very high customer base, so work load is very high.
So it’s challenging to maintain work life balance.
F1: How will you maintain work life balance than?
Me: Ma’am With time management, work will be always there, if we become more
efficient & do work in coordinated manner, work can be finished early :p
M2: If you were branch manager of your bank, how will you coordinate the work?
Me: Sir, first I’ll distribute the work, like some person will handle ekyc, some will do
neft/rtgs, some will do deposits & withdrawl. Also I’ll interact with high net worth
customers, listen their issues & will try to increase the businesses of the branch ;)
M4: What are your weaknesses?
Me: Sir, I’m overthinker :| I also get impatience when customers tell me to hurry, I’m
still learning to be patience & give customers my proper attention.

Exam : SBI PO 2019-2020
This was my first attempt in SBI PO and my second interview experience after RRB
PO 2020 which happened on 24th Feb and SBI PO interview was on 4th March.
I am currently working as JA in SBI (1st attempt) so I did not get enough time to
prepare for interview. I couldn't even read basic banking.
I had done fair in mains but wasn't sure of the GA section so interview was going to
be a deciding factor.
I was nervous but when I entered the interview room they calmed me. I was so

nervous that I forgot to greet them at first 😣. Then they asked to took off the mask
and I greeted them.
My panel was comprising 4 members only (IDK why) with CGM sir.
Head of the panel started asking questions from my hometown and I answered
them flawlessly. Then he started asking my learnings being a JA from 2 months. I
answered them as well.
Then second member asked some psychological questions like Why so early? You
did your grad in 2019 and isn't that too early for banking? He was targeting on the
age. Thankfully I had prepared this, it was smooth.
Then ma'am asked me questions about banking, I asked 3 of them and I missed 1.
Then 4th member again asked me about my work as a JA in SBI. He took reviews
from me about my branch and staff. He asked me a few terminologies of CBS too
which I answered well.
Over-all the interview was fine. I was answering the questions confidently. Ma'am
was sitting on my right and she was continuously watching my expressions. So
never ever shiver.
At the end there was a smile on all of their faces. I greeted them and came out.
I don't know why I didn't get good marks in interview despite such an experience. I
scored on 30 out of 50. My mains marks helped me ace through. I scored 108 out
of 250 (which was really good considering the difficulty of the question this year).
Finally I am a probationary officer in SBI (dream job in banking after RBI Gr B).

Date: 5th of April, 2023
Venue: SBI LHO, Bhopal
My SBI PO interview was scheduled for 5th April at 8 am in Panel 1. I arrived at the
LHO at 7 am and completed all the necessary formalities, including document
verification. Once that was done, we were given breakfast and waited in the
waiting room for the first round, which was the Group Discussion (GD) round. We
were then led to the room where the GD was to take place.
During the GD, we were given the topic "Why is the customer important for the
success of any organization?" After the officials introduced themselves, we were
asked to give our introduction and then share our viewpoints on the topic. The
discussion was smooth and organized, with everyone getting a chance to express
their opinions. I also shared some of my points on the topic.
The second round was the Group Exercise (GE) round. We were given a paper with
eight points related to "Good Health and Life," and a table in which we had to mark
our preferences. The task was to reach a group consensus on the priorities for
good health and life. While discussing the points, we had to explain why we
thought a particular point should be given priority. One participant was very
argumentative, but we managed to maintain a group consensus and finish the
exercise within the allotted time.
Following the GE, we returned to the waiting room and waited for our interview
turn. I was called into the interview room, where I was greeted by a panel of three
men and one woman. The first interviewer asked me about my graduation in B.A
and the subjects I studied. When I mentioned history, he asked me to tell him
about the Chola Empire. I provided all the details I knew and even mentioned
some points which I got to know from the movie PS-1. The interviewer then asked
me why the Chola Empire was famous, I wasn't sure if it was for their navy, so I
decided not to guess and apologized for not knowing.
The second interviewer then asked me about five non-religious tourism places to

visit in MP, which I answered to the best of my knowledge. The female interviewer
asked me about GDP, and I provided a detailed explanation of what it means.
However, when she asked me about the current GDP, I initially provided a
projection, which she was not expecting. I quickly corrected myself and provided
the current GDP figure.
The third interviewer then asked me about the Panchayati Raj system and the
three-tier governance structure in India. He then asked me about the oath of the
Vice-President and CJI and India's political structure. Finally, the first interviewer
asked me about GNPA and NNPA, which I answered by providing details on the
provisioning process.
Overall, the interview experience was smooth, and I felt that I had answered the
questions to the best of my ability. I checked my results on 18th April and was
thrilled to discover that I had cleared the Exam. 🙌
In summary, the SBI PO interview was an exciting and challenging experience. The
GD and GE rounds allowed us to showcase our communication and teamwork
skills, while the interview tested our knowledge and confidence.

They gave 15 min to prioritize ourselves n then discuss it in the group. Our group
hasn't reached any of the consensus n they clearly said there is no need of
reaching it.
Interview: I was 9th in the 1st batch so my no. came on 1:15 pm. The panel was
pretty cordial,they ensured a cool environment!!!
