Comparison of simulated and observed response for sub-assemblages tested in the laboratory is
shown in Fig. 7 and Table 1. The result indicates that the proposed model is appropriate for use in
simulating the earthquake response of building joints with moderate earthquake loads demands.
Conclusion
A descriptive model for beam-column joint has been studied based on OpenSees. OpenSees has
advantages over other nonlinear softwares in using new algorithms and the improvement of
constitutive model. The results showed that it is proper to use this model to simulate sub-
assemblage under earthquake response.
