Subject: Minutes of the 18th Deans’ Committee Meeting

The 18th Deans’ Committee Meeting was held under the Chairmanship of
Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Worthy Vice Chancellor in the Vice Chancellor’s
Secretariat, Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus, on 26th of May 2021.

The meeting started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. The Worthy Vice
Chancellor welcomed all the members of the meeting. Thereafter the house discussed
and decided the following agenda items.

1. Mid-term Examinations

After detailed deliberations on proposals for commencement of physical classes

and examinations, the closing of Spring Semester 2021 is decided as under:

i. The physical classes shall start w.e.f. 07.06.2021, following the

auto-generated timetable and in three phases i.e. morning,
afternoon and evening on alternate days already notified vide No.
249/DOA, dated 19.03.2021, in line with the implementation of
safety measures in terms of social distancing, wearing of face
masks and use of hand sanitizers, etc. to prevent the spread of
COVID 19.

ii. A combined examination (Mid and Final term) shall be conducted

w.e.f. 02.08.2021.

2. Admission Campaign Fall-2021

The Deans’ Committee unanimously allowed to start admission campaign for Fall
Semester 2021 w.e.f. July 2021. The Committee appreciated the performance of
Admission Centers during Fall 2020 and recommended to expand the network of
Admission Centers in other districts of South Punjab. The details of the campaign,
however, will be decided by the Admission Committee.

3. Preparation of trial timetable for Fall-2021 and next Deans’ Committee

Meeting

The Directorate of Information Technology and Directorate of Academics will

jointly prepare a trial timetable for Fall-2021. The proposed timetable should envisage
the new intake in Fall-2021, keeping in view the availability of academic space and
faculty strength. The rooms under construction should also be considered for
preparation of timetable.

The next meeting of the Deans’ Committee will be held on 03.06.2021

(Thursday) to discuss the matters regarding academic space, transport, and hostel
facilities for Fall semester 2021.

There being no further item to discuss, the meeting ended with a vote of thanks
to and from the chair.
