ENGLISH CONVERSATION I

Course Description
In this advanced English course for 12th grade students, we will be looking at
different types of languages, grammar, and vocabularies that we can use in a
daily routine. We will be working on group writing, role plays, dialogues and
conversations.
OBJECTIVES:
Students who complete this course successfully will be able to:
• Understand conversations on every day or personal matters (greetings,
counties and nationality, jobs and introductions), simple instructions
and directions.
• Understand and extract predictable global and specific information
from very short texts with frequent vocabulary.
• Understand very basic things like, talk about family, food, daily life,
where are you from? And others.
• Use plain language to reach a satisfying discussion.
• Ask for and give personal information (family, time, direction, colors,
month) etc.

• Write notes with very basic information, instructions and directions
related to everyday activities daily activities.
Attendance policy:
10% of your grade will depend largely on your attendance, so it is very
important to always attend classes. to be eligible for the exams you must
have at least 80% attendance prior to the date of the exam.

Grading System
For grading we will evaluate class participation, homework, oral and written
exams.
• Written Exams = 50 points
• Oral exam= 20 points
• Class Participation = 10 points
• Homework = 10 points
• Attendance =10 points
