Answer all the Questions. Each Question carries 2M.

1. What is the distance between points (-4, 0) and (6, 0) ?


2. Plot the given points on the graph. A(-4, 0), B(2, 0), C(6, 0) and D(-8, 0).
3. Find the distance between points ‘O’ (origin) and ‘A’ (7, 4).
4. Show that the points A (4, 2), B (7, 5) and C (9, 7) are three points lying on the same
line. (Use Distance method).
5. Find the relation between x and y such that the point (x , y) is equidistant from the
points (7, 1) and (3, 5).
6. Find a point on the Y-axis which is equidistant from both the points A(6, 5) and B(– 4,
3).
7. Find the distance between the points (a, b) and (-a, -b).
8. Verify whether the points (1, 5), (2, 3) and (-2, -1) are collinear or not. (Use the Slope
method).
9. Can you draw a triangle with vertices (1, 5), (5, 8) and (13, 14) ? Give a reason.
10. Find the point on the X-axis which is equidistant from (2, -5) and (-2, 9).
11. Find the slope of the line passing through the points (-5, 7) and (-1, 3).
12. Find the midpoint of the line segment joining the points (2, 7) and (12, -7).
13. Find the area of a triangle whose vertices are (1, -1), (-4, 6) and (-3, -5).
14. Find the coordinates of the centroid of the triangles with vertices: (-1, 3), (6, -3) and
(-3, 6)
15. Find the value of ‘K’ for which the points are collinear. (K, K), (2, 3) and (4, -1).

1. If (1, 2), (4, y), (x, 6) and (3, 5) are the vertices of a parallelogram taken in order, find
x and y.
2. Find the coordinates of a point A, where AB is the diameter of a circle whose centre
is (2, -3) and B is (1, 4).
3. Find the coordinates of the point which divides the line segment joining the points (a
+ b, a - b) and (a - b, a + b) in the ratio 3 : 2 internally.
4. If A(-5, 7), B(-4,-5), C(-1, -6) and D(4,5) are the vertices of a quadrilateral, then, find
the area of the quadrilateral ABCD.
5. If A and B are (-2, -2) and (2, -4) respectively, find the coordinates of P on AB such

that AP = 7
AB.

1. Find the trisection points of line joining (-3, -5) and (-6, -8).
2. Find the coordinates of the points which divide the line segment joining A(-2, 2) and
B(2, 8) into four equal parts.
3. Find the ratio in which the line segment joining the points (-3, 10) and (6, -8) is
divided by (-1, 6).
4. Name the type of quadrilateral formed by the following points, and give reasons for
your answer. (-3, 5), (3, 1), (1, -3), (-5, 1).
