2. Definitions:
Only qualified and competent personal capable of identifying existing and predictable hazards
will be involved.
Only specially trained and skilled people are allowed to work on MV equipment.
Prior to the work start the erection crew must receive a work permission to work in SWCC
environment. This has to be organized by site supervision.

5. GENERAL
5.1. Receiving
As soon as equipment is received, a visual examination of the packaging shall be carried out to
determine if there was any damage during transport and handling. If any damage is noticed
please inform site management.
Drying agent bags in the packing’s to be checked and renewed if intermediate storage will be
necessary.
6. Preparation and Transport
6.1. Check Base Frame
- Installation of base frame on the concrete floor has to be performed prior to
installation of switchgear panels and secondary concret must be available before
switchboard erection
- Check the base frames for straightness and evenness.
- The tolerable values are given in the sketch below.
- Protocol to be filled out.
Survey and elaborate the differences between the erection footprints of the different fields.
Differences are to be eliminated by placing shim plates between the base frame and the steel
frame of the 13,8kV switchgear.
Floor Level in front of MV switchgear panels must be leveled properly to ensure easy moving of
vacumm circuit breaker trolleys.
The single switchboards will be installed c profiles in the secondary concrete.

6.2 Tools
- Transport equipment for longer distances inside switchgear building, see below or
equivalent
Issue Date:
Due to limited space on the transport route inside the switchgear building the switchgear arrives
in single fields. There are no transport units with two or even three 13,8kV fields together.
For transport by crane they are equipped with transport plates. See picture below.
A crane with sufficient height shall be used in order to achieve an angular of the ropes of
minimum 45 degrees. A smaller angular could damage switchgear.
Check the sequence of the transport. It is recommended to start at the left side of the switchgear.
7. Erection
Issue Date:
Before starting the erection read carefully the instruction and the documents acc. chapter 2, the
layout drawings according to detailed design and single line diagrams.
The method of placing transport units depends on the dimensions of the transport units, i.e. if a
unit contains two or three fields.
In our case, each transport unit consists of one field.
Erect and wire the units according the sequence as given by the layout drawings.
The fields have to be aligned bolted side by side and on the base frame in the correct sequence.
Do not lose any part, bolt or nuts etc.
