I. OBJECTIVES
After going through this lesson learners are expected to:
a. read and analyze the biography of Nelson Mandela; Stirring up Trouble, Nelson M: A Thembu
Prince and Nelson: A cow’s Best Friend
b. infers dominant thoughts and feelings expressed in the biographies
d. create a chart of details of the text read.

understanding in reading the biography
of Nelson Mandela.
But before that let us first group yourself
into three, okay? So, start counting

question in a paragraph form. Not less than five sentences here’s the rubric.

1. According to Benson, what stirred Mandela, the political prisoner, to help the people in their
struggle to be free? What kind of forces did Mandela confront or deal with? Was it a cause worth
fighting for? Why? (Group 1)

2.Why did Merideth, describe Mandela as a Thembu Prince in his narrative? (Group 2)

3.Why does Benjamin Progrund describe Mandela as a cow’s best friend in his narrative? (Group 3)
