I Deep Breathing Exercise

Visualize your favorite color. Then take a deep 3 sec breath in through your nose, inhaling that
color and hold for 2 sec. Exhale gently and quietly through your mouth for 3 sec imagining that
the air you are exhaling is greyish in color and filled with any negative thoughts you might have.
Repeat this 5 times.

II Articulators Warm Up
(mouth, tongue, lips, teeth, hard palate)

Standing in actors neutral with your feet flat on the ground with a slight bend in your knees and
your hands resting at your sides or if you are seated with your feet flat on the ground sitting
upright with your hands at your side, take a deep breath in through your nose and when you
exhale through the mouth try to make the lips flat like a horse.
We are going to take 3 deep breaths in through your nose, exhaling through your mouth and
flap your lips.
With every new deep breath in try to extend your exhale so you flap your lips longer.

Stick your tongue out of your mouth and try for 3 sec to touch the tip of your nose/the bottom
of your chin/left ear/right ear each for 3 sec.

III Tongue Twisters

First, read over each phrase quietly to yourself. When you are ready say each phrase out loud
slowly and clearly stressing each consonant in each word (e.g., red wristwatch).
Repeat these phrases:
Red wristwatch,
Unique New York,
Red leather yellow leather.
Toy Boat Toy Boat.
English Horseradish Sauce.
Brush Each Pretzel.
a wet red work rag.
free flee spray.
where are all our oars.
Now speak each phrase out loud quickly and clearly 3 times in a row.
