 Spread the duct adhesive at the required rate.

 Fix insulation firmly on the duct when it is at ground level and seal all joints with aluminum
tape.

 Make sure all the insulation corners are provided with GI corner angle 30mmX40mm

 Apply duct adhesive on duct (at the rate of 4.5 sq.m/litre) and fix insulation firmly in position.
Insert stoppers over the pins to hold insulation firmly to the duct. Bend the pin to lock stopper in
position and seal with 3mm thick aluminum tape. The insulation in the bottom portion of the
ducts should be kept under pressure by some means till it get dry and stick firm to the duct. Seal
all the joints with 75mm width aluminum tape.

 Cover the insulation with 200gm/sqm canvas cloth with 50mm overlap.

 Apply a coat of approved canvas coat. Apply second of vapor barrier after drying of first coat.

 Apply a coat of vapor barrier. Ensure the continuity of vapor barrier and other protective
coatings on insulation surface as well as at connections.

 Cut pieces of insulation to suit the width of joints between ducts, spread duct adhesive on duct
joints and stick insulation firmly in place. Seal the joints with aluminum foil tape.

 When insulating VCD’s & splitter dampers, ensure that the handle is not covered by the
insulation to permit opening and closing of dampers.

 Ensure access doors are not covered fully and are easy to open / close.

 Apply a coat of vapor barrier for the joints and complete the vapor barrier treatment.

 Where insulated duct work passes through fire rated wall/partitions the gap between sleeve and
duct work shall be filled with approved fire barrier material.

 In exposed area, cover the insulation with 200gm/m² glass cloth. Apply two coat of approved
vapor barrier (anti condensation fungus resistant) to ensure full penetration in to the glass cloth.
