Chapter 5

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter presents the summary of findings,

conclusions and recommendations relevant to the study of

health status of freshmen students in relation to sports

involvement of Bachelor of Physical Education at La Carlota

City College, School Year 2023-2024.

Summary of Findings

1. The evaluation of the health status revealed that the

physical health of BPED freshmen is predominantly in

good condition. In terms of mental health, results

indicate a moderate status, while emotional well-being

received a positive assessment. Freshmen students

exhibited good socialization skills.

2. Regarding individual sports involvement, freshmen

students demonstrated a moderate level of

participation. Their engagement in partner or dual

sports was also interpreted as moderate. Similarly, the

extent of involvement in team sports among BPED

freshmen was categorized as moderate.

Conclusion

1. The physical and social health status of BPED students

was good, while their mental and emotional status was

moderate. Moreover, their overall health status was

moderate.

2. The level of sports involvement of BPED student in

individual, dual and team sports was moderate. As a

whole, their level of sports involvement was moderate.

3. There is no significant difference in health status and

sports involvement of freshmen Bachelor of Physical

Education students.

Recommendations

In the light of the findings obtained in the study,

the following recommendations were formulated:

1. The students need to be participative, active, not

afraid to explore new things in life and get out of

their comfort zone so that they may be able to receive

a benefit out of it such us a positive attitude,

developed a holistic personality and being a goal-

oriented.

2. The faculty shall always inspire and support their

students. Physical Education instructors are

encouraged to plan out an intervention or activities

that would like to provide their students with

substantial training, exposure and involvement in

sports for stronger capability.

3. The school head needs to implement more sports

activities for students to develop and enhance their

abilities in sports.

4. Parents would be motivated to allow their children to

actively involve themselves in school sports program

and by offering encouragement and financial support.

In addition to providing access, transportation,

education, emotional and financial support, parents

bear the responsibility of introducing their children

to physical and sporting activities.
