Introduction
## Objectives
1. To design and implement a user-friendly online survey platform for collecting student
feedback on blended flexible learning options.
2. To apply machine learning algorithms, including Naive Bayes and lexicon-based approaches,
for sentiment analysis of the feedback.
3. To develop a dashboard for educators and administrators to visualize and interpret the
feedback data.
4. To provide actionable insights and recommendations based on the sentiment analysis and
data visualization.
## Literature Review
To inform the development of the Student Feedback System, we draw insights from the
following research:
2. **Adoption of Opinion Mining in the Faculty Performance Evaluation System by the Students
using Naive Bayes Algorithm** by Francis F. Balahadia and Benilda V. Commendador showcases
the use of Naive Bayes in opinion mining. We will explore similar techniques to analyze student
opinions on blended flexible learning.
5. **Opinion Mining Technique for Developing Student Feedback Analysis using Lexicon-based
Approach** by Muslihah Wook contributes to our understanding of lexicon-based sentiment
analysis, which can complement machine learning approaches in our system.
## System Architecture
1. **User Interface**: An intuitive web-based survey platform where students can provide
feedback on their blended flexible learning experiences. This platform will also collect
demographic data to contextualize feedback.
2. **Data Processing Module**: This module will preprocess and clean the raw feedback data,
handle missing values, and prepare it for analysis. It will also integrate lexicon-based sentiment
analysis tools.
3. **Machine Learning Module**: Utilizing machine learning algorithms (e.g., Naive Bayes), this
module will perform sentiment analysis on the qualitative feedback, categorizing it as positive,
negative, or neutral.
## Timeline
## Budget
The project budget will include expenses for system development, cloud infrastructure, data
processing tools, and personnel costs for developers and data analysts. A detailed budget will
be developed as the project progresses.
## Conclusion
The "Student Feedback System for Blended Flexible Learning Options" project aims to enhance
the quality of blended learning by providing a data-driven approach to gather, analyze, and
visualize student feedback. Leveraging machine learning and opinion mining techniques, this
system will enable educators and administrators to make informed decisions for continuous
improvement in blended flexible learning options. The project's outcomes have the potential to
transform the educational experience for students, making it more adaptive and responsive to
their needs.
