As you know, energy plays an important role in our life. There are many kinds of energy such as: water power,
nuclear power, wind power, fossil energy, solar energy, geothermal heat,…
First, about water power. When water moves from high place to a lower place, it can also create electricity
without pollution.
Second, about solar energy. As you know, solar energy is a powerful source of energy that can be used to heat
and light for our homes and businesses. Nowadays, much energy is slowly being exhausted and solar energy can
insist on these energy. Today there are many companies use solar battery to provide energy for machinery. Solar
panels on the roofs of houses can create enough energy to heat or cool an entire house. Solar energy is not only
plentiful and infinite but also clean and safe.
Third, about wind power. The wind turns the windmills to create electricity and moves sailboats. In some hot
days, the wind is the important energy to make cool for our houses. It is a clean source of energy and many
countries use it for these purposes.
Next, about fossil energy. As you know, fossil energy is very necessary to our life. Fossil fuel provides energy
for machinery to make them work.
However, sources of energy is becoming exhausted day by day . So we need to have some effective ways to
save it.
First, to save electricity we should turn off the light when we don’t use it. Second, we shouldn’t use too many
electrical appliances at the same time. It will waste of electricity and money. Moreover, we can use power saving
bulbs to save electricity.
Third, as you know, the amount of fossil fuels in the world is limited. Therefore, we must save it, and at the
same time we must find new source of energy.
For many reasons, I think we should save energy because it is very important to our life.

Now let’s talk about its advantages first. The first advantage is we can easily entertain ourselves via the
social media. On the social media, especially Face book, there are a lot of funny videos which are posted everyday
and you can watch it as much as you like without paying for anything. Face book also has a lot of interesting
games that you can play it whenever you like, so I can make sure that you can feel more relaxing when you use
social media after a hard working day. Secondly, you can communicate with your friends without meeting face to
face. As you know, there are a lot of means of communication such as Face book, Instagram, Twitter,.... which
you can benefit greatly from using it to communicate with everyone you like. Moreover, you can not only text
messages but also use video chatting, so it is very convenient to talk to your friends from far distance, am I right?
Thirdly, you can sell your products online, if you want to succeed in selling things, you should advertise your
products on the social networks, this way is very popular with the youth, because they are able to make a lot of
money. Furthermore, you can buy things you want online fast and conveniently without going anywhere.
On the other hand, it can’t be denied that social media also brings us lots of disadvantages. First of all, you
will get eyes problem if you use social media too much. Everyone knows spending too much time using social
media will harm your eyesight, if you have problem with your eyes you will have to wear glasses which is very
expensive. Moreover, if you use social media carelessly, you will be tricked for money easily. As you know,
billions of people use social media and you don’t know what kind of people whom you are chatting with if you are
chatting with a stranger, because they may trick you for money. The worst disadvantage is if you sit in front of the
screen too much and you don’t want to go anywhere that means you have been addicted to the virtual world. It is
very dangerous for you because you will be impossible to develop your social skill and I’m sure that you won’t
have a successful future.
In conclusion, although using social media is beneficial for all of us, we shouldn’t spend too much time
using it. So I think we should balance the time we use social networks and the time we socialize with friends.
4. How do you keep fit and stay healthy.
As you know, health plays the most important role in our life and many people don’t know how to have a
good health. Maintaining a healthy body is not that easy but not so difficult. And it’s important to have a good
health because an unhealthy body will be attacked by many disease so right now I’m going to tell you how to stay
healthy.
Firstly, you should do morning exercise regularly. Because doing morning exercise is very good to our
health, it can help us prevent many dangerous diseases and improve our health easily, but it doesn’t mean a simple
activity, it should be in such a way that your body should start sweating. You can go for running, ride a bike or
jogging. Moreover you should play some sport such as soccer, badminton, table tennis, etc because playing sport
can help us improve both physical and mental health.
Secondly, in order to keep fit and stay healthy you need to follow a suitable diet. Make sure that your
balanced diet includes a lot of vitamin, nutrition and protein. Try to include vegetables, fresh fruits, milk and fish
in your daily diet and try to avoid junk food because none of the nutrients are available in these junk food so you
shouldn’t eat it too much. Make sure that you are having your breakfast regularly, skipping your breakfast
regularly will definitely affect your health. Especially, don’t let your body lack of water, if water content in your
body goes low, it will lead to dehydration. So to keep your body healthy make sure you drink more amount of
water daily. Moreover, you should have a medical check up so as to have best advice from the doctor and you can
have an idea about your health conditions
Thirdly, you shouldn’t get yourself stressed. Most people due to stress at work and they often have health
problems. If you want to reduce stress, you should entertain yourself by watching TV, hanging out without friends
or playing video games. By controlling your stress you can maintain a healthy body. Bad habits like smoking,
drinking, using drugs must be avoided. We are all know that using these items can be addicted easily even though
you have used it once. So usage of these items will have a very affect your health. The most important is your
body must get enough time to take rest. Make sure you get a sleep from 8 to 9 hours per day. Sleep is very
important for healthy body and also for mental and emotional happiness

these problems.

There are a lot of natural resources on the Earth. However, they are become more and more exhausted. This is
the serious problem. Nowadays, I currently mention to the cause and the solution to these problems.
Firstly, one of the natural resources is soil. The soil has been destroying by a lot of chemical which people
fertilize. More over, the level of water of the sea is going up and up. So, we lost a great number of the soil.
Secondly, the forests have been cutting down everywhere in the world by man. Many rare trees disappearing.
Because people destroy forests to get good or get farm. As a result, a lot of animals are in danger because of the
shortage of inhabitat.
Thirdly, water has been polluting because people throw rubbish into the rivers and the sea. Beside, many
people waste too much water. These make water be wasted and polluted.
Fourthly, the mineral degrease because people exploit without saving them. For example, 6 months ago, the oil
and gas were exploited over seven millions. So the oil and gas were degrease a lot.
Then, I have some solution to these problem. Firstly, the farmers should use compost instead of chemical to
fertilize their fields. Secondly, people had better preserve forests and plan trees. Thirdly, people should save water,
don’t open the faucet when don’t need use. Finally, the government should have a suitable policy for exploiting
mineral.
In short, it can’t be denied that natural resources are important to our life. We should save them everyday to
make our life better.

present my topic ‘Describe a custom in Viet Nam that you would like people from other countries to adopt
To begin with , “ What is custom ? “ Custom is a traditional way and widely accepted way of behaving or doing
something that is specific to a particular society , place and time .
Personally speaking , every country has their own customs but I really want other countries to learn about Tet
custom in Viet Nam . It celebrates the arrival of spring based on the Vietnamese calendar , which usually has the
date falling in January or February . Therefore , I choose this custom because of some following reasons .
First of all , paying off debt . The Vietnamese , especially salespeople , believe debts should be paid off , partly
because they should and partly because they believe paying off their debts will make for a more prosperous year
ahead . It may not come as a surprise to find creditors pulling payment from their wallets just a few hours before
the New Year .
Secondly , preparing festive dishes . Many nations celebrate culinary specialties for the new year . In Viet Nam ,
Banh chung ( steamed sticky rice dumplings wrapped in arrowroot and special treats made in the days leading up
to Tet and are served throughout the holiday
Thirdly , freshening up . The Vietnamese look to start the new year with a fresh look . At this time , fashion shop
and beauty salons are almost fully looked one or two weeks before the holiday . In addition to a new look , this
belief is extended to their homes as well . Many try to tidy up as much as possible and work out the kinds before
guests arrive .
Moreover , about rituals . Tet holiday is a time when the Vietnamese reunite with their ancestors and deceased
loved ones through various types of rituals . The prepare a feast as an offering and burn incense .
Furthermore , visiting Tet flower markets . Tet is the only time in the new year when the demand for flowers is off
the charts high and so locals open up temporary flower markets one week before the holiday to answer that

present my topic ‘ Would you prefer to like living in the city or in the countryside ?
Personally , life in the city is always more exciting and more comfortable than life in the countryside . Because of
some following reasons .
Firstly , children and students who live in the city have more opportunities to learn . For example , in English
subject , there are many foreigners and modern equipment for them to learn . They often learn English when they
are young . So , it’s easy for a 5 year old child to speak English fluently . Another example , according to
statistics , there are more than 50 English centers in Ha Noi . And not only English but also other languages are
taught and learnt in Ha Noi city . In my view , children and students has better education and more opportunities
for their studying .
Next , people in cities have better jobs . There is easier to find a good and interesting job . Nowadays , in cities ,
there are many shops , apartments , buildings , companies , ... where you can find a good job . What ‘s more well-

8. Describe a famous festival in Vietnam. Do you like it ? Why, why not ?
Although there are many celebrations throughout the year, Tet is the most important for Vietnamese people,
which marks the beginning of the Lunar New Year. This annual activity originally came from China hundreds of
years ago as a result of the influence of Chinese culture.
Held between late January and early February, it is officially a three-day celebration but festivities may
continue for about a week. The preparations begin about a week before Tet. All homes are thoroughly cleaned or
even repainted to get rid of bad luck of the old year. People also decorate their houses with colorful flowers suck
as marigold, Mao Ga flower, lily and apricot blossom, together with peace blossom and kumquat trees. In spite of
being with their work, a lot of people who work and study in big cities go back to their hometown to celebrate the
New Year with their families and relatives. That why many people expect this festival a lot.
There are many activities during Tet. Everyone, especially children, wear new clothes. Like most Asian
countries, Vietnamese often wear red and yellow at Tet because they believe those colors symbolize prosperity and
good fortune so we can see them everywhere in those days. People also try to pay all their pending debts and
resolve all the arguments among colleagues, friends or members of family. Besides, gifts are exchanged between
family members and relatives, while children receive lucky money kept in envelope by elder people.
Throughout the day, the streets are filled with people performing lion dancing with drums, bells, gongs and
fireworks. Tet is also a great time for people to enjoy many traditional dishes such as sticky rice cake, spring rolls,
boiled chicken as well as tea and dried candied fruits, which is kept in beautiful boxes and placed on the table in
the living room.
On the days of Tet, everyone tries to be nice and polite to each other. People believe that what they do on the
first day of the year will influent their luck during the whole year.
Tet is a special and meaningful occasion to all Vietnamese people and so do I. I really love this festival because
I can get more days off from study, and therefore I have more time to spend with our families and our loved ones.
It is also a great time to think about what I have done in the previous year, and to make plans for the upcoming

The development of technology has led to many important discovers, facilities and better luxuries. It’s not
difficult to recognize how much of the technology we use in daily life. From accessing massive amount of
information on the internet to simply experience an enriched personal lifestyle, technology continues to benefit us
day in, day out. It is undoubted true that technology plays an important part in our lives.
The recent growth of technology made it possible for us to live in more comfortable lives. Firstly, it has
changed the way of communication. In the past, you had to write a letter to communicate with someone. The letter
could even take days before it was delivered. Errors were common because letters might often be sent to wrong
recipients. All you have to do if you want to communicate with someone today is to send them a message or make
a phone call. Nowadays we have smart phone, internet, computer, social media and mobile apps to communicate
with everyone in the world. They have helped us eliminate time and distance to contact with everybody at anytime
and anywhere.
Secondly, technology changed the ways of education and learning and learning methods. The advancement in
technology has made it possible for teachers to impact knowledge to students from any location. Now, both the
teacher and student can communicate via different media. Moreover, technology has expanded the access to
education and there are huge amounts of information (books, images, videos, etc ) that are available through the
internet and it will enable to enrich your knowledge. In addition, online courses are increase rapidly and most of
them are free. Technology is another factor that can be used to increase the students’ achievements. Students use
technology to do projects and research, now they can connect to other schools and do collaborative work with their
team. Furthermore, it helps students build important skills such as communication, critical thinking and problem
solve.
Technology has impacted every aspect of our lives today and healthcare is no exception. There’s no doubt that
technology is the driving force behind the huge improvements in healthcare. The majority of the hospitals today
have implemented modern technology in hospitals and surgical rooms, which has reduced many mistakes made by
doctors. Besides, there are also health phone and desktop apps that allow us to easily monitor your weight, heart
rate at anytime of time.
Last but not least, the way we pay bill and transfer money are changed as well. No more do we have to enter a

What for? Yeah, we are here because of learning English.
As far as you know, learning English is very important and necessary for all of us. English is the most
popular language in the world. However, many students don't know how to learn English effectively. And now, I
will tell you some ways of learning English well.
Firstly, I'd like to tell you how to learn speaking skill. You should to speak English as often and as much as
possible! This is the best way to learn English! There is nothing better than conversation to help you improve.
Whereas, you can practice reading, writing, and listening on your own, it’s obviously better to speak English with
someone. The best way to do this is to be in an English speaking environment. Take an English course in an
English language school, or better still, learn English in an English-speaking country. Moreover, the quickest way
to learn English is to surround yourself with English speakers. Also, get into the habit of thinking in English, don’t
translate from your own language into English, it will slow you down. When you talk, use the sentences which
instantly and naturally feel right to you, these are often the correct ones.
 Secondly, for listening, this really is a skill that needs to be worked on everyday. Like speaking, it's better
for you to be in a totally English speaking environment . It’s also good to watch TV shows, or movies in English.
The news can be difficult to learn from for level students, but the more you listen the more you’ll pick up. As an
exercise, it’s good to have something you can listen to over and over again. When listening to something more
than once; first, try to catch the general meaning, then, listen a second time for more in-depth information.
Thirdly, for reading, reading English is something you can do to help you learn on your own, outside of the
classroom. Have a dictionary with you to look up new words and then write them down in a notebook. Try to use
these new words in conversation, it's a great way to learn. You should try reading short stories, books which have
been especially written for English learners. You won’t learn much if you choose a book that is too difficult or too
easy. You should find something that will be challenging, fun, and you can learn well from. When you read don’t
worry about trying to understand every world, don’t keep reaching for the dictionary every few seconds! Instead,
try and understand the general meaning of the text first and then re-read it. For words you don’t understand, try
learning how to guess the meaning from the context. Look at the other words in the sentence; they will give you
clues as to its meaning. Check to see if the English word is a verb, a noun or an adjective. The internet is full of
stuff you can read and learn from.
Writing gives you a good chance to review words you have learned in the past, and allows you the time to
think about grammar as you write. Go back and review anything you might have written in the past, when your
English was at a lower level, and try to find any mistakes you made. Think about writing a short story or even a
poem; if you have a teacher , he will be happy to check it for you.
In short, with or without taking classes, good strategies and good resources are important. However, your
own effort and dedication to the study are the key to success.
11. TET HOLIDAY
Good afternoon teachers and all of the students. Let me introduce myself. My name is Vy and I'm from
Nguyen Khac Vien secondary school. Today, I’m very happy to be here to meet all of you. And now I'd like to tell
you the most meaningful things on Tet holiday.
As you know, Tet is a festival which occurs in late January or early February. Officially, Tet holiday lasts
for three days, however, it is closer to a week or ten days, as many celebrations occur before or after that date. A
week before Tet, people are busy in shopping, decorating, cleaning their houses and preparing everything for
celebrating holiday. Parents buy new clothes for their children so that they can wear them when Tet arrives. The
atmosphere on these days is very animated and joyful with the streets and markets are full of people, shops are
brimful with products and all of people are eager to welcome Tet holiday. Especially, in 23rd day of twelfth month
by Lunar calendar, Vietnamese people usually celebrate the traditional ceremony to see Kitchen God to return to
heaven. “Tất niên” is also an integral ceremony in the week before Tet. It is celebrated to see off the old year with
bad luck and illness then welcome the happy and lucky new year. Tet is a time for family members who live apart
try to be together. Despite of their business, people get their time with their own family for preparing and
celebrating Tet together.
The first day of Tet is the most important day and it is reserved for family. Children receive “lucky money”
from their parents, grandparents or the elders. “Lucky money” is a sum of money that are wrapped by an red
envelope. People believe that it could protect children from elves and also bring to them good fortune, healthy in
new year. Usually, children wear new clothes and give the elders the best greetings before giving the “lucky
money”. After having the breakfast in the first day of the year, people visit pagodas or temples to pray wishes for
them or their own family,
Taking about food in Tet holiday, we cannot but mention to chung cake Traditionally, those are the kind of
cake made of sticky rice, green peas and pork, all of which are wrapped by banana leaves or Dong leaves. Besides,
there are so many kind of traditional food such as “mứt”- which means dried candied fruits
Vietnamese people usually decorate luxuriously their house at Tet, they believe that brings them more
happiness and money in new year.
The new year festival is so important to me and also to all Vietnamese citizens. The reason is because we
get more days off from work and study, and therefore we have more time to spend with our families and our loved
ones. It is also a great time to think about what we have done in the previous year, and to make plans for the
upcoming year.
 In short, Tet is a really terrific holiday for the Vietnamese to relax, have fun and practice traditional
customs as well
12 .What are the positive and negative impacts the internet may have on your study ? State those impacts
and explain the reasons.
As you know, the internet is now very popular with people all over the world. It is so useful, especially for
students, but it also has a lot of negative effects on our study .So, I think that the internet not only brings us many
benefits but also creates lots of disadvantages on our study.
First of all, the internet helps students to get information fast and easily. We can search everything that we don’t
know because there is a lot of information about our life and everything around us on Wikipedia , on the internet.
Secondly, students are able to learn many things on the internet. There are many websites for us to learn all the
subjects. Especially , we can learn English on the internet with some websites , such as : stepup English, duo lingo,
BBClearningenglish , etc which have various lessons for us to learn. Finally, with the help of internet and social
media , it’s possible for teenagers to ask friends, teachers or everyone for help to do their exercises. Whenever you
have difficulties in your exercises, you can ask people on the internet as they always willing to help you.
On the other hand, there are so many negative impacts the internet may have on our study. Firstly, students now
are dependent too much on the internet. They ask for the answer for their exercises on the internet without thinking
themselves. It leads to a bad thing that students are very inactive and they lazily think about new kinds of
exercises. Moreover, we may learn many bad things on the internet. As you know, the internet has everything,
include in bad information. Therefore, if we are not careful, we can learn lots of bad things , which are not good
for our study and our mental health. Last but not least, teenagers are becoming addicted to the internet. Spending
too much time in front of the screen to surf the internet leads to many health problems like : getting stressed,
autism , short-sightedness, etc and it also makes us not have enough time to study.
In conclusion, I think the internet not only has positive effects on our study but it also creates many negative
impacts. Therefore, we should balance the time for the internet and the time of going out to communicate with
friends.
13. Should students be allowed to bring mobile phones to schools ?
Nowadays, mobile phones are becoming more and more popular with the youth. They use them everywhere
and someone has the question:” Should students be allowed to bring mobile phones to schools? “. In my opinion,
students shouldn’t bring mobile phones to schools because of the following reasons.
Firstly, bringing phones to schools can make them distracted. They can’t pay attention to the lessons which
the teacher are teaching. There are many important knowledge that students will miss and they can’t keep up with
friends. They just attend to the games on phones. It’s very bad
Secondly, students can use phones especially smart phones. Smart phones have internet which contain a lot
of information and knowledge. Using them is very useful and easy to get the answers of the questions. It’s unfair.
Finally, bringing mobile phones is very dangerous. It is easy to be stolen. The phones cost a lot of money
and their parents will be very mad at them. They take phone to school without asking and they will be criticized.
In short, bringing mobile phones to school is wrong. Students shouldn’t do that and if they have problems or
questions, they can ask their teachers to solve that. However, having a phone can help them do many things.

set up on the computer. Of course, Robots do not have brain, they also do not have creavity or imagination,…
Moreover, Robots are not able to show emotion, interact, communicate with people,…
Second, Robots just do the simple ways and repetitive tasks. Robots do not have creavity or imagination, so they
can not replace artists in human beings. Besides, robot can not do all the tasks in the hospital or in the surgery or
connect with the patients like doctors. Robots can work in many fields but they can not work in the fields which
need a lot of skills, creavity, experience,… In addition, People made robots and robots just work the tasks which
were set up on the computers. In the other word, Robots depend on human

In conclusion, for the above reasons, I think robots can not replace human but we can’t deny the advantages
of robot. Robots are here now, for the best or the worst depend on you.
Topic 15 : Should animals be kept in zoos ?
Nowadays , there are more and more endangered species that saving the animals is one of the most serious
global problems.To protect the animals, many people say that we should keep them in the zoos. However, in my
opinion, animals shouldn’t be kept in zoos because of the following reasons.
Firstly, animals have to leave their natural habitats. Animals are born in their natural habitats which have
good conditions for animals to live . Many studies have shown that animals in capavity often suffer from boredom,
stress ,confinement and nothing can compare to the freedom of the wild.
Futhermore , many zoos don’t provide good conditions for the animals to live. As we know, the zoos are
visited by many people , so it brings a lot of money. Because of the thought of having money, many zoos don’t
care about animals’s health and don’t look after them good enough , they only care about money. Being used as a
thing to make money is much more terrible than being caught .
Finally , keeping animals in zoos is not as good for education as many people expect.When children see the
animals being kept in cages, they will have the idea that they are able to have and keep the animals in capavity
whenever they want.
In conclusion , I think it is not good to keep animals in zoos. However , it doesn’t mean that animals aren’t
protected . We should tell everyone to save the animals and not to hunt them.

In this life, there are a lot of beautiful people, however; they have a bad behavior. They are always rude to
other people. That will make them don’t have many friends because they don’t know how to behave rightly. All
people around them will never play with them however beautiful they are. I think they have to change their ways
of communicating to have more respectation from other people
There are a lot of people who have good behavior but they aren’t so beautiful. I am sure that they will have
a lot of friends because they always help all the people around them. They are good at communicating with other
people that make all people around them always respect their personality. They will be successful in their life if
they keep that behavior
 I think in the life if we have both of beauty and good behavior, it will be great. We can have respectation
from all people and we can have more because we are beautiful. More people want to make friend with us so we
don’t have to worry about thing that we won’t have many friends.
In short, I agree that if we have good behavior, we can have a lot of friends. we can’t be arrogant because
we have beauty. Therefore we should learn how to communicate. It is very important
