2016 SCHOOL INTRAMURALS

S.Y. 2016-2017

In relation to Division Memorandum No. 32116, s. 2016, Bukal National High School
participated in the 2016 School Intramurals last August 25-27, 2016 with the theme “Batangas
Sports: Achieving Goals, Realizing Dreams.”

The sports competition aims to:

a. Strengthen and intensify school sports program;
b. Foster self-discipline, teamwork and excellence among Filipino Batangueñong
Manlalaro;
c. Develop health and alert athletes;
d. Inculcate the value of sportsmanship; and
e. Build camaraderie among the players.

Through the efforts of the MAPEH Department headed by Mr. Arnel G. Roxas, MAPEH
Coordinator, the students of Bukal National High School conducted its 2016 Sports Intramurals.
The Part I of the activity was conducted last August 24, 2016 at 3pm wherein candidates of Mr.
and Ms. Intramurals of every section showcased their beauty and skills in sports. It started with
an invocation led by Nicole Anne T. Rivera, General MAPEH Club President. It was followed
by the singing of a Nationalistic song conducted by Mr. Gerald E. Gutierrez, MAPEH Teacher.

Opening Remarks were given by the School principal, Mrs. Rowena R. Masilang.
Furthermore, the presentation of judges was delivered by Mr. Lester C. Sunto, Chairman of the
board of judges. The most awaited moment happened as the candidates for Mr. and Ms.
Intramurals were presented wearing their sports attire. Moreover, they performed their
production number enthusiastically. Special awards such as Best Sports Attire, Best in Sports
Attire, Best in Production Number and Popularity Award were awarded. The top 5 contestants
were also identified who undergone the question and answer portion. Through this, the Mr. and
Ms. Intramurals were recognized. Ms. Sheree Joy Montemayor and Mr. Rickson Fabellore both
from Grade 10-Galileo bagged the awards as Mr. and Ms. Intramurals 2016.

The Part II of the program was launched last August 25, 2016. It started with a parade ad
followed by a Mass as an inspirational and enlightening event for the student-athletes and
tournament officials. Inspirational messages were given by the School Principal, Mr. Boyet
Tolentino, a representative of the Brgy. Chairman, Mr. Cerio H. Pasia, General PTA President,
and Mr. Christian Marasigan, Municipal Sports Coordinator. The Hoisting of the School Flag
and flags by section immediately succeeded. Afterwards, the Oath of Sportsmanship was led by
Mr. Rickson Fabellore and the Oath of Officiating Officials was led by Mr. Gerald E. Gutierrez.
The Lighting of the Torch of Friendship was led by representatives-athletes from each year level.
Consequently, the balloons were released as a sign of peace and sportsmanship. The 2016 school
intramurals was formally opened through the confirmation of the school principal and by
conducting a ceremonial serve.
 The Modern Dance Competition was also conducted where in Grade 9 students won.
Subsequently, the sports competition properly started. The players proceed to their venues since
the areas for each competition varies and located at various places in the school. The 3-day
competition was executed harmoniously and fairly. Each sports competition ended with the
awarding ceremonies for each sports event.

As for the players, they bagged not just awards but numerous experiences and garnered
friends from the different sport competitions. The 2016 School Intramurals ignited the hearts of
the Bukaleños to strive harder and to continuously give pride to the school on the upcoming
Municipal Sports Competition.
