•Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the
United States. Biden took the oath by placing his hand
on the Bible that has belonged to his family for
generations. "Today we are celebrating the triumph not
of the candidate but of the idea of ​democracy. The will
of the people has been heard; we know that democracy
is precious and delicate and now it has won; this is
America's day, the day of democracy" - said Biden. The
new president called on Americans to unite and fight
together against the challenges facing the United States
and the world.

•The American flag is
commonly known as Stars and
Stripes, sometimes also Old
Glory. It features 50 white
stars, symbolizing 50 states,
and 13 white and red stripes
symbolizing the 13 original
colonies.
"The Star-Spangled Banner" is the national anthem of the
United States. The lyrics come from the "Defence of Fort
M'Henry", a poem written on September 14, 1814, by 35-
year-old lawyer and amateur poet Francis Scott Key after
witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by British
ships of the Royal Navy in Baltimore Harbor during the Battle
of Baltimore in the War of 1812. Key was inspired by the
large U.S. flag, with 15 stars and 15 stripes, known as the
Star-Spangled Banner, flying triumphantly above the fort
during the U.S. victory.
Statue of Liberty

•Symbol of "freedom radiating the


world", given to the Americans by
the French, as a commemoration
of the adoption of the Declaration
of Independence. The statue is
located on Liberty Island, New
Jersey and is 93 meters high. In
1924, it was declared a national
monument of the USA. It depicts
a woman holding a torch in her
right hand that signifies progress.
In the left hand there is a plate
symbolizing the American law - it
bears the date of the United
States regaining its freedom. The

through the states of
Minnesota, Wisconsin,
Iowa, Illinois, Missouri,
Kentucky, Tennessee,
Arkansas, Mississippi, and
Louisiana. Part of the
Mississippi basin covers the
area of ​the Tertiary Sea Bay.

and runs from the
Pacific Ocean to the
Atlantic. The boundary
begins at the Strait of
Juan de Fuca on the
west coast and
separates Vancouver
Island from Washington
State.
