INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR HAND DRYER

UNPACKING

The hand dryers have been tested before leaving the factory. If any part should be
damaged in transit, please return that part to us for immediate replacement. Each hand
dryer carton contains the following:

a) Hand Dryer
b) Installation Leaflet
c) 4 off No. 10 x 2” Wood Screws
d) 4 off No. 10 Wall Plugs
e) 1 off hexagonal key

SITING

The hand dryers should be sited in such a position that the outlet is approximately the
following heights above the floor, according to use:

Men’s use 48” (1219mm) Ladies use 46” (1168mm) Children’s use 41” (1042mm)

NOTE: If installing an automatic machine, ensure there is a minimum of 36” (915mm)

between the underside of the machine and any surface.

FIXING

Due to the power of the turbo machine, excessive noise may be heard when fixing to a
stud or similar wall. Remove the front cover by unscrewing the two fixing screws.
Position the back plate on the wall and mark through the four fixing points. Drill the wall
to suit the No. 10 wall plugs enclosed. If the supply is to be concealed, drill a hole
through the wall lining up with the 20mm hole in the back plate. Fix the back plate to the
wall with the screws provided.

WIRING OF BACKPLATE

It is recommended that the electrical installation is carried out or checked by a qualified

electrician and inspected every six months. The 220/240 volt 50Hz supply must be
connected to the Hand Dryers via a double pole fused isolator having a contact separation
of at least 3mm between poles, using a mains lead of at least 1mm. Remove the terminal
block cover on the back plate. Bring the mains cable through the cord clamp adjacent to
the terminal block. Note there are 2 positions for the cable entry.
Wire up mains as follows:

The red or brown lead to the terminal marked L

The black or blue lead to the terminal marked N

1
Ensure the copper core is clamped by the terminal block screw and not the wire
insulation.

FRONT COVER WIRING

Ensure the main supply is isolated. Hook the dryers onto the back plate hinges. Connect
the wire from the hand dryers to the terminal block on the back plate. REPLACE THE
TERMINAL BLOCK COVER.

OPERATION (Automatic Models)

When removing your hands from beneath the dryer, the motor will still run for between
3 and 5 seconds. This is quite normal.

TROUBLESHOOTING

THE FOLLOWING CHECKS MUST ONLY BE CARRIED OUT BY A COMPETANT

PERSON AND THE MAINS SUPPLY ISOLATED BEFORE REMOVING THE
FRONT COVER.

Your hand dryer has been fully tested before leaving the factory but should a problem
occur, please check the following:

Automatic Machines

If the hand dryer does not operate at all, check:

1. That the fuse is still in the fused spur and not blown.
2. That a 13 amp fuse has been fitted
3. That power is getting to the hand dryer
4. The hand dryer has not suffered transit damage

If the hand dryer works intermittently, check:

That the 2 slots on the under side of the machine, behind the nozzle, are clear and
have not filled with dirt etc.

The sensitivity on your hand dryer has been set at the factory but adjustment can
be made by following the instructions below:

a) Isolate the machine from the mains supply

b) Open the hand dryer and locate the sensitivity adjuster
c) Turn gently clockwise to increase the sensitivity and anti clockwise to reduce
it.
d) Close the hand dryer and switch on the test

Touch Machines

If the hand dryer does not operate at all, check:

2
1) That the fuse is still in the fused spur and not blown
2) That a 13 amp fuse has been fitted
3) That power is getting to the hand dryer
4) The hand dryer has not suffered transit damage.

There are no internal adjustments that can be made to the touch models.

during normal use, within this period, just return the faulty part, properly packaged, for
immediate repair or replacement.
