- Research soldiers of the 33rd United States Colored Troop Regiment in South Carolina to
produce the first comprehensive muster roll of the regiment.
- Analyze primary source documents from the American Civil War, namely pension records
and newspapers.
- Conduct oral histories with the living relatives of soldiers.
